A typical day at work for me, depending on the shift, stars at one 1/2 - 1 hour before the shift should really commence , that I can meet the person I am relieving in order to get the days projection or divisional brief,  would start by certification of the station diary in so doing I have a first hand view of the recorded days events, I would be able to continue when the first person left off, see what resources are there what I have at my disposal for the shift, what resource I have what needed to be done and how to prior ties, I would then conduct an audit of all the resources, brief the staff and deploy them accordingly, conduct interviews with persons waiting to get permission for events, attend meetings where necessary, listen to my service radio for other stations needing assistance and sending the assistance, visiting personnel out on duty to see how they are performing, if court is in session pass by and see what's happening there, see  to events , such as counseling or mediating with internal or external customer and lots more, its difficult to tell its many and varied depending on the day.

The JCF has taught me to be responsible person, to be a good organizer, communicator, how to read the unwritten statement, to be a good leader/ manager (team leader / Team member)
I have worked with managers who at times lacked the art of proper communication , and some very, very good leaders , Managers persons who if you had a problem you would feel comfortable, in sharing with them

Like some  organization there is always a mixture, those who are really good team members, who you can depend on to complete their given task with little or no supervision , others you would have to push or pull them to get the job done,there are those who understands your leadership style and understands nature of the job they do, that they should be professional at all times, and work for the good of the organization
there rare those who don't like your leadership style and you will have to be strong to deal with them.

The hardest part of the job was not having the proper resources to get the job done effectively and efficiently
The most enjoyable par of doing my job is seeing persons who you have helped and worked with satisfied at the end of the day you your self is satisfied that the mission was accomplished

The most fun time is when the team has a after work jam where members of staff and their families can attend and you cook , play different games and enjoy yourselves and when we have our area sports where we meet for fun and games

A typical day at work can be extremely fast-paced while others may be slow-paced. This is dependent on where you work and what you are required to do. Some supervisors can be very professional whilst others may be very vindictive. Staff members may be reassigned to less desirable divisions/locations simply because they are not favoured by a particular supervisor. When you are transferred to a location there is an unwritten judgement that will accompany you to the next division.

During my tenure, I have learned a lot of coping mechanisms, how to work in an extremely stressful environment, and how to tolerate various personalities. I have honed investigative skills and have learned about the law and courtroom process and procedure. 

The environment can range from anywhere from welcoming to extremely toxic. Persons can be competitive and this can result in the not-so-qualified supervisors trying to suppress a more qualified subordinate. Notwithstanding, there are a few supervisors who may encourage those below their rank to educate themselves and strive to achieve higher ordeals.


Daily activities includes conducting digital forensics on computer and mobile devices along with search, seizure and preservation of digital evidence. The management supportive and ever changing as is this type of discipline and this is to keep update. Within this field having competent co-workers make the job much more fulfilling as each person learns from the other due to different case assigned and the individual research conducted. 

A job of this nature challenges mostly comes from not having enough trained personnel to carrying out more investigation due to vast number of cases as well as having the required tools and equipment.

Overall the job is very educational and dynamic where anyone can learn several areas of discipline in digital forensics and Cybercrime investigations.

What is the best part of working at the company?
You interact with persons at different levels and because it’s a stressful job you get adequate time off

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Favouritism for promotion causes demotivation

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Depending on where you are assigned it can be encouraging and culture great depending on your superior 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Recommending applications for time off as applied, visits at various locations where team members are located and listening to their concerns and elevating them to my superior. Ensure my team members are properly fed and joining them on duty for spot. Checks

there is always several task to be performed on a given day, however there are time when I have to prioritized base on needs.

The crime rate is very high in Jamaica and victim support has to be done in each case, at times I would be on one assignment and would be called to leave and go to another assignment which must be dealt with now.

I am taught not to let my guard down especially when I am at home.

Time management and follow-up are very important in order to please the internal and external customers.

To see broken lives and hearts.


To see genuine smiles on people's faces.

Fortunately for me, Community Policing is what i do for the most part. The hours are very challenging. Work is fun at times,however, i learn to have a high level of tolerance , as I work on a university campus which is a very diverse place. Unfortunately, our internal customers are our worst enemy. The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting people from all over the globe...The hardest part of my job is dealing with an in-disciplined society with limited resources. However, I do sincerely appreciate my job, and has never taken it for granted.

As a police Sergeant a typical day for me, is to supervise my team and to work along with them to get the work done. I have learnt that working together help us to achieve our daily task. I am in-charge of work shift and i am responsible to keep the government property safe. The culture i am from we work together to serve the public. The hardest part of my job is to deal with the problem of short-staff. The most enjoyable part of my job is to see that my effort help those we serve.

to check and prepare Quotation for material to carry our rapairs and to transport police personnel to various areas across the Island, learn to be alert on time and never trust anyone, there are different manager with different management styles and policies, the training collage facilitates physical activites and after work hang out, the hardest part of the job is not knowing what can happen to you work day, the most funpart of the job is transporting personell all over the country

my team is consisted of five police personals,we worked for twelve hours daily for four fours days weekly,the shift start at six in the morning or after an ends at six .i learned to worked in group thing sharp and quickly ,my co workers are like family to me because we protect each other and look out for each other.the hardest part of my is losing a co worker to violence.The most enjoyable part of my job is going back home to my family after a days duty.

A tipical day at work i perform task like prevention and detection of crimeThis job have shown me how to work as a team to effectively carry out work relatyed matters. The management staff is excellent in worker welfare and also the a wonderful work force. However the the environmental hazards like dust, shooting and smoke makes work difficult. The most enjoyable time at work is getting work incentive for job carried out efficiently
