The company itself is fair, and the labour is expected of each position. However, I was hired as a TPT in packaging and was changed to Sanitation within one working shift. I was expected to have open availability even though they would ask for schedules 2 weeks in advance, and claim to work with ones schedule. I had requested 1 day out of an entire month to not be scheduled, and was reprimanded for it. The pay was great for the work, but the lack of job security and stress involved with having to rotate on all 3 shifts on a weekly basis was too much. Was expected to work full-time later on, even though hired to only work Part-time.

Free vitamins free lunches a few times a year

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Burst manufacturing is constantly racing towards a red light to hurry up and run out of work to do as fast as possible. Management is a boys club of inept McManagers.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, boys club in management, push hard for numbers with no floor knowledge, or sympathy or empathy for the average worker. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Pay is decent everyday is different. Sometimes run all day sometimes clean all day

Working here was wonderful! Management was very responsive to emails and they were a great support during my time. Overall, I felt that I learned a lot from my experience here. 

If you enjoy discussing politics, I think this type of workplace could be energizing but otherwise, it will be distracting. I recommend working in a different department if harassment is a potential concern.

The team was very small and it was easy to make friends at work. Everybody was very knowledgeable and the workload was not overwhelming. Hours typically started at 6 AM but some shifts start in the afternoon or late morning.



Other than having to pick your shift preference that you want you have to make a team so it has to be three person team so if you want days and afternoons you have to get somebody else that wants to take days and afternoons and somebody does midnights steady pretty hard to do and at the end of the year in December all the teams get broken up and you have to resubmit your shift preference and do it all over again so you may not get a steady shift that you want and you might have to rotate all three

At time of employment Jamieson Laboratories was a privately owned Canadian operation. The essence of that fact provided a licence to control ones own destiny as it applied to every decision-making process and action required. This provided a unique work environment that was exciting, adventurous, not without risk, but for the most part fun and rewarding.

Finance Department: while management is nice and approachable, the colleges are not. They are miserable old people who constantly complain and are always on your case. I had a very bad experience with a certain individual. But she was just an exaggeration of the entire department. It is hard to describe unless you live it. The pay is awful, unless you are a CPA. I did learn a lot from my managers who seem down to earth. There is really no room for growth but the work/life balance is good despite how everyone says they're constantly "busy"

Company that over works their employees. Mandatory 48 hours, with added pressure to work overtime every day and Sunday’s. Swinging all 3 shifts. Then throws them out like a piece of trash before their probation so they don’t have to pay a decent wage.  If you’re okay with only working for 3 months to make some cash,  take this job. Don’t expect job security here. This company is the most disorganized thing I have ever seen.

The best of the best, intelligent, innovative, experienced people make this a great company to work for not to mention a great culture with regular updates from the CEO regarding all aspects of the company. Have always had great support from management & HR. Almost 100 Years of quality products made in Canada! Still growing & expanding more than ever.

I used to work their on contract. Although it was often fast paced and stressful, overall I did enjoy working there. The only problem I had was that I was only a teenager there and this was only my second job and the older workers there (not management) were very rude to me. They also often talked bad about me, whether it was in a different language or straight English to my face. 

Enjoyed my time there, the 50 cent sales and whole purchases were welcome benefits, the catered lunches especially at Christmas were great. Definitely a place I would recommend to others looking to start out in IT
