At Jani King I was responsible for managing any client concerns as well as contacting clients on a scheduled basis to ensure they were please with their cleaning services.  I would then touch base with the franchise owners responsible for the cleaning and give them a review.

During my time at Jani King, I also did site inspections for larger clients and interviewed new potential franchise owners and cleaning staff.  I was also responsible for covering reception, data entry, database maintenance, and recording meeting minutes.

I think the most challenging thing about my job with Jani King was that I found there were not enough hours in a day to complete everything I was responsible for completing.  I also found this to be one of the most enjoyable parts of the job.  I enjoy being busy and working under pressure.  

Overall, Jani King offered me a lot of great experience, and I enjoyed working with the team.

Don’t go there, run if you can. Too much work, no work life balance, low pay, no benefits, unprofessional co-workers and managers. If you are looking for a job where your blood pressure will grow high and you will stressed out and hate yourself, then of course you can go there. I went there to work and I left after a short while because management was poor and unprofessional towards me. No one respects anyone, everyone thinks that they are better than each other, the work culture is very poor. Please stay away from this place.

I DID NOT DIRECTLY WORK FOR JANI KING. I worked for a franchise owner. I would mostly work nights only working days on the weekends or Holliday’s. I cleaned almost anything from car dealerships to restaurants and houses before being rented out. Over the last year I took over a small mangement roll. How ever I did not feel my value to the franchise increasing so I am looking for a new beginning. Through my time at JANI KING I leaned how to train other employees and and I worked closely with upper managers so I leaned why certain things need to be the way they are even if it isn’t beneficial for the lower level workers.

Typical day at work is coming in at 10pm after an event or hockey game and working up to 8am cleaning the entire stadium for the event the next day. I learnt how to stay up all night working, and managing a team to clean the entire stadium. Co-workers get grumpy and lazy at times but its my job to get them on their feet and to do the task at hand. Hardest part of the job is the job itself, cleaning the entire Canadian Tire Centre Hockey Stadium within the night. Enjoyable part of the job is socializing while cleaning.

Jani-king is a fast pace franchising cleaning company. Working at the regional office you got a first hand look at the struggles the franchisees faced running the their businesses. With a high commission rate and contracts that were usually under bid, it showed you what hard work really meant. The franchisees had to be well organized and able to take on multiple contracts to make their business work. As an operations executive you had to have a good relationship with management as well as the franchisees to be motivated and motivate while dealing with customers concerns and problems.

I loved cleaning, especially being a day porter for admiral insurance. I got to see new faces everyday and I was truly appreciated for the work that I did. A typical day at work included cleaning all washrooms three times a day. Cleaning the lunchroom. Cleaning kitchenettes and collecting garbage and taking the garbage out. The most enjoyable part about the job was getting to know people because I am a very friendly person and easy to get along with. The hardest part of the job was keeping an eye on the small detailed things. Management was great and I never had a problem with them.

1. Segregating plastic waste and garbage, sweeping, collecting garbage, cleaning glass surfaces and mirrors and mopping at times. Cleaning bathrooms and replenish toilet paper and paper towels.
2. Learned time management in terms of what needs to be cleaned first and faster.
3. Management very good.
4. Co-workers are good team players.
5. Carrying heavy loads of garbage at times. (Usually an overnight job at Canadian Tire Centre).
6. One can talk to their co workers as long they work. Fun to see different people visiting and crazy fans at the Canadian Tire Centre.

They sale you franchise and find work for you and charge you 3 times of monthly revenue as a finder fee in installment, once installment is over they will assign the contract to someone else

Working a as day porter you learn that something always needs to be done you have the support of the company always
