What is the best part of working at the company?
The staff support from management. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not much I can think of.  I worked at one of the supportive housing buildings and was very happy.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Casual, empathetic and supportive 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy but in a good way.   Always doing something which makes it great for me!  Time flies when you are busy.

The day varied and sometimes called for quick and unusual solutions.
Every day was a learning experience in varied topics.

Management was dedicated to implement an excellent work environment.

Co workers were great and interested in being a team

The hardest part of the job was helping the women look at difficult times in their lives but was also the best as we were able to assist them in finding solutions.

First go into shift change to take notes from the day time staff. Pass on info to the next team. Have dinner with clients. Be available for clients needs; counseling, medication, or any needs.  Start Program with group. Then more counseling, meds and conflict resolution. Bed checks and lights out.  Finally, shift change information passed on to next team of counselors to come in.

Honestly, being a counsellor and working with the clients helped me learn and grow a lot. Coming down to the employee level however, was a different story. To be brief, microaggressions of all forms (i.e. race, class, gender, etc.) are very real in this work environment depending on who you work with from different teams and managers. Otherwise, still a decent place to work if you're starting out in mental health and addictions support work. 

Not a good place to work in. There’s no care shown towards staff, everything is about money. Very unorganized with absolutely no structure. Use and use employees and dispose anytime they feel like. No proper communication between management and staff. No clear expectations set, gaslighting and fake laughs. The absolute worst management and manager. 

This foundation is a place for women who have had struggles (with drug abuse mainly) and need help getting back on their feet.
I volunteered there as a makeup artist to help out and get some experience while I was living in Toronto.

The Jean Tweed Centre is a fantastic place to work. The culture is welcoming and supportive. The work done at Jean Tweed is inspiring and motivating to support women and children live healthy lives.

The program provided is very well laid out and easy to provide.  The environment is very comfortable and the grounds are remarkable.   Clients seem very comfortable. 

The centre used to be a better place to work in.. then management decided to shift into a business model rather than a social service model.. nickels and dimes are counted. Lack of flexibility for staff, lack of bereavement support, unorganized.

Very busy, hardest part was having to place people on waitlists and the most rewarding was seeing people change their lives for the better and being able to be a part of it!
