Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House

Very busy restaurant overall, your shift usually is volume heavy which is good for money. High volume, high tipout, but consistently making above average money every shift. 
Summers can be hard because of long shifts in the heat (lack of effective air conditioning) and a limit on days you can book off for a 2-3 month stretch. But in the autumn, winter and spring season, shifts become sparse when the patio closes down. Servers and bartenders go from 5 days/ week down to 2 or 3 with a potential call off. So it is hard to have a second job when the demands of Joe Fortes are so polar from season to season. 

Management means well, but ultimately don't listen to staff concerns or admit effective changes to concerns raised.

I recieved a job offer to become a steward at Joe Fortes. So far I been enjoying my time here. Lunch rushes can be very fast-paced, but management makes sure to lend you support if needed/become too stressed. 

Was a good place to work while balancing school and personal life at the heart of Downtown Vancouver. Enjoyed my time there and learned lots. Hours were long and people were often over worked in the summer months. If you can survive the summer pace, you can make good money. 

As per me the management in the restaurant have to much politics always try to push you away and favour some of the selected employees only but few of them are good 

I liked working here, but it was to pretencious and honestly management sucks. They act like theyre perfects, but far from it, and they lead me on. They hired me for the busy season, but let me go when they slowed down. Not a fan or a customer anymore.

Maybe is the busiest restaurant in Vancouver, so the work there is very hard, but the staff helps you every time and the chefs are teaching a lot some new things. The staff is very friendly and is very fun to work there.

Was a good experience in Joe Fortes, both for a work experience and for a life experience, all of the chefs were very respectful and helpless. I really indicate with you wanna work there!

I really enjoyed creating delicious dishes here. The team work is amazing. They offer benefits after 6 months. The hours are there if you're needed. Overall decent place to work.

Probably the highest paying hostess job in Vancouver during summer season, good hours, daily tips, friendly staff, properly managed. 

I had a very good experience here  

Management was the only issue working here but hopefully that changed when the new GM moved to corporate and stopped ruining the operations. Great long term staff as well
