Joi offers good work-life balance with a Monday to Friday schedule, a good benefits package, and standard starting wages comparable to the rest of the cannabis industry. The job itself is enjoyable, diverse, challenging, and a bit stressful due to the nature of the industry. The people I worked with were fun and warm and the main reason I stayed on as long as I did. Overall, I really liked doing my job, but couldn’t tolerate the management style. Raised voices, belittling, condescension, manipulation, passive aggressiveness, favouritism, and gossiping are some of the things I experienced and witnessed from the people in charge. I felt that fear was the main leadership tactic here, and it worked - I felt uncomfortable, small, fearful,  and demoralized often. There were some good moments, but unfortunately, lots of bad ones as well. These issues were brought up during an exit interview and I left shortly after that so I can’t speak for the current state of affairs, only my own experiences while working here. 

I have always said, that you never truly know how well a company is run or how well they treat their employees until you have been there for at least a year. 
The cannabis industry is no easy task. A lot of people think it can't be that difficult. "You just play with weed all day" is the constant reply I get when I tell people that at I work in a LP. It's far from easy, no one really truly knows how much cleaning is involved until they walk through our doors and walk right back out because it's too difficult.
Every company has their ups and downs, and the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Doesn't matter what industry. You definitely have to stay your toes and learn to go with the flow as some tasks can change quickly daily. 
Management has always listened to my concerns about anything that goes on under their roof and helped me grow into my role.
I love being a part of this amazing group of people, everyone helps out when they can, regardless on what their job title is, including the President, where I can truly say, I'm very proud with the product we sent out our doors. 
Here's to many more years! 

I have been working at Joi for quite a while now and have nothing but good things to say...I dont understand the negative reviews on here. There is a great group of people at Joi all the way from the office into production. Many people have come and gone, and while I dont know all the details, theres definitely been some egos that have come in without the willingness to show up, learn the processes and work hard. I feel as though management has done a great job of dealing with the constant curve balls that come with a business like an LP, all while remaining available for the staff when they need to talk. I have requested a couple meetings with mgmt and have always been heard and respected.I love working at Joi, do not let the lies in these negative reviews ruin your chance to be a part of a legit grow!

They promise you a lot in the beginning.
You will be laid off after a couple months, so they don't have to pay the majority of their employees benefits, just to hire new people and go through the circle again. Taking advantage of employees, making false promises and destroying careers. You will not even get a proper notification before you're laid off.
Overall, these practices are very questionable, unprofessional and not right.

If you enjoi feeling like your job is on the line every time you come to work, then this is the place for you. Very toxic environment, management doesn’t take any feedback, and isn’t open to anyones opinion. HR doesn’t keep anything you say confidential and there’s a lot of gossip between management and workers. Constantly keeping you past your scheduled shift with no recognition or appreciation. Management has a lot to work on in order for this place to succeed. 


I know, no matter what I write, the owner will reply that this is a personal attack to Joi. I assure you, that is not the case.
My experience was good and bad. I worked with some amazing people. The facility is clean and safe. 
Unfortunately the unprofessionalism, was what made my experience negative. Management should work on not gossiping to workers, about workers. And management should work on, not bullying workers.


If you want to work somewhere you feel full filled and appreciated then I suggest going anywhere else. Hostile working environment, horrible management, no organization. If you want a dead end job that pays poorly then this is the place for you. No room for growth. Their sense of superiority will be their downfall. 

This start-up company was challenging to work for at times because of the lack of policies, favoritism and unprofessional manners from uneducated management (production manager).

HR has zero training and break all basic HR rules.

Joi is less like an assembly line than others i've worked at.  Every one does a little bit of everything because the company is small.  Which means everyone has to help clean.  The work is fast-paced and often physically demanding.
