Working as a Store Manger at Joshua Perets has been a very educational and challenging opportunity.  In my experience a typical day would include managing a balanced schedule, ensuring the stores performance meets the requirements of the company and providing excellent customer service to all clients.  Tasks performed and delegated by a store manager include preparing accurate inventories on store products, overseeing and providing guidance to all staff members, communicating between other stores and the head office and ensuring the visual merchandising is completed to benefit sales and revenue.  Management members work closely as a team for the overall stores success.  All staff are required to work together to build on each other's sales and aid each other in all areas.  The most challenging part about being a store manager at Joshua Perets is playing more than one role in the store.  Not only am I required to recruit, train and manage a strong staff, I am also the visual merchandiser, the accountant within the store and the sales manager.  Anything that takes place within the store is the store manager's responsibility.  The most enjoyable part of working as a store manager for Joshua Perets is achieving success as well as being able to watch coached employees improve and grow into strong customer service representatives.  I enjoy working with people and it is very rewarding to be able to hold a conversation and be complimented on the stores tidiness and service.

When I first started working there the manager was great and provided a great working environment and fair amount of hours for employees and was flexible to their schedules. Once she left, there were 4 different managers in one year. Some were particularly unfair and mean, while others were pretty good but the lack of a stable work environment still made it hard. Holiday hours are rough in retail, but here we would work for 11 hours straight on boxing day, only getting 2 15 minute breaks. Two years in a row we were promised food after closing and never received it. The employees were amazing and so friendly and I was able to form close friendships with them, mostly why I stuck around in the company for so long.

A typical day at work was very slow except around back to school and the holiday season. Many people's shifts had to be cut due to slow traffic in the mall. I spent most of my time re merchandising the store because head office would change their minds about displays constantly. My co workers were great. They always took initiative to help out if the work load was getting heavy. They followed my instructions very well without me having to repeat myself. The hardest part about my job would be dealing with my supervisors from head office. A lack of communication between my superior supervisors occurred a lot, which resulted in confusing and different instruction from each of them.

hardest part of the job much like any job is dealing with unhappy customers and providing a solution to what the problem is.ultimately you do ever you can in order to have the situation resolved and the customer leaving happy.

most enjoyable part of my job is helping customers feeling happy with their time in my store and excited about their new purchases, and pleased with the customer service , with not just me but from all of the employess

absolutely amazing place to work, the environment is wonderful everybody is always happy and encouraging it is a really great place to just go and even get inspired. The work is always new and long and the people always are there to help you out with ideas and of course the freedom is great, being able to work as a photographer while being able to express my style is amazing.

I enjoyed working for Joshua Perets because the workplace was very rewarding and welcoming.  I never worked in retail before Joshua Perets. I found it to be challenging at times to keep up with daily sales when there were no customers.I enjoyed the fact it was commission and hourly paid. I worked towards up-keeping my goal of completing 100$ in sells per hour of work.

Very unprofessional work environment. The manager frequently speaks disrespectfully to and about employees. Staff turnover is high, and employees are often dismissed without clear justification. I also witnessed discriminatory behavior toward both employees and customers. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

Was not really my favourite place to work. Was a good place to gain retail and sales experience but I did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would. It was still a great store for people who like bright colours and a more casual workout type look. Co workers were ok as well. Hardest part was actually selling the product because it was a new store.

When in a management position, they make you feel like an over qualified third key. You can`t make a single decision without having multiple people sign off on it and they have no problem coaching staff on the sales floor in front of customers....terrible work environment.

This company was new to the city, had a great vibe and great staff both in store and in head office. The company was very easy to work for, they trusted my opinion and view of the store. When I had to go on sick leave they were more then helpful and understanding. I would work for them again in a heartbeat.
