K-Bro Linen Systems

K-Bro is a pretty big company but the pay for truck drivers (5 ton) is lower than the industry standard. The drivers have to go through A LOT. The work is very hard & can be very tough on even the strongest bodies. Drivers dont get any holidays off to spend time with their family because the company operates 365 days a year. Drivers also have to driven in very dangerous road conditions. Drivers have some of the hardest jobs at K Bro but the company does not treat them fairly. They have am extremely hard time hiring drivers so full time drivers have to cover the slack. When they finally hire new drivers, they never stick around due to the workload & digustingly low pay with absolutely NO benefits whats so ever. Picking up dirty laundry is no easy task because the bins smell horrible.  Ive seen at least 10 drivers quit in a span of just 2-3 months due to the companies greed. If they decided to actually pay a decent wage & offer decent benefits then this job would be worth it. This company needs to be shamed. The management is nice but head office is greedy & unethical. They are overworking their full time drivers because 7/10 drivers will quit before probationary period is over due to workload & miniscule pay/no benefits.

The management is extremely poor here, they will not treat your nicely or with respect. They'll tell you to work faster when you feel like you're about to pass out. The job is non stop repetitive labour and they'll tell you off for being a minute late from your break when they were the one to not give you the full 10. The facility is very gross, especially for a laundry facility, it all just drags on the dirty floor. The bathrooms are also disgusting as they are covered in toilet paper and half the latches on the stalls don't work. 
Another issue is the majority of the staff here only speak cantonese so communication is non existent and you're expected to be trained off only observational learning, so if and when you do make a mistake it is your fault even though you literally had no idea.

Good luck meeting their impossible quota. They expect so much labour for such an awful wage. Do not work here it is not worth your physical and mental health.

K-bro linens is a great place to work, I work well with fellow co-workers, and have great work compatibility. I have learned that I am capable of working under strenuous conditions, and have been told by many co-workers that I go over and above what my job description requires me to do. I love working in a warehouse environment and having the responsibilities , I can work with little or no supervision. A typical work day would be to start unloading trucks with clean linens, then reloading trailers/ trucks with soiled linen carts, hand bombing (toss) soiled bags to fill the top of carts, semi-sealing. Filling out proper paperwork which pertains to shipping/ receiving on a daily basis. Ex) Bill of lading for each truck. Filling out reports on damaged equipment/ carts. Making repairs on carts when possible. The job requires me to be on a strict time schedule, which I do very well at. My job keeps me very busy and it is steady throughout my shift.

In the beginning it’s starts out as you have to learn lots of new ways to push and pull linen carts. At all the hospitals, nursing homes and hotels. Lots of patience in learning this new skill from the driving manager. As long as your driving is good. The pay is pretty high for trucking and job security is there. But you will not get paid ot if you don’t finish on time. So your working for free for couple of months untill you get use to it.  Or sometimes because of weather or something else. No one in this department ever calls in sick at anytime. Very healthy people I guess because of the work out you get from delivering. No set schedule you have spot all the runs and learn them. No weekends or evenings or holidays. You have to stay for ten years to get a set run. Over all its work and it’s not a typical driving job.

No matter how desperate you are, PLEASE PLEASE re-consider wasting your time on this place. This place is the most disgusting environment i ever had to work-in, it stinks 24/7 and gross. They take advantage of their workers and treat them almost like slaves. Training is none literally. They show you how to fold the bedsheets without COMMUNICATING, it's like your playing a point-and-click game then expects you to remember it after the first day. Also the machine spews out a mess of unfolded linen every second, so if you aren't Speed your station will be filled with that mess. the 2 half an hour breaks doesn't make sense because if you're an afternoon shift, you literally end at mindnight (I don't know how it works out that you end at midnight and still only get paid for a total of 8 hours everyday). Lasted only a week and it was the longest week of my life.

  them to hotels and hospitals in daily
* I leaned to get high speed in pucking and packing items by provide 
  high quality in time less
* The managers were provided all informations, early orders, and any inquires from hotels and hospitals to correct actions
* We are different culture from all over the world involving in the work load and helping each other to finished on time with effectively standard
* the hardest part was the long hours when we had busy business time
* The breaks are the most enjoyable time and the parties in Christmas and summers

We are friendly team workers, helping, enjoying, and hard working to finish all items in timeless

This company in Burnaby is terrible.

Supervisors do not respect anybody. Rally disappointed and just worked there until I could find something better. 
The production is slowing down so you don't get your full hours. They just let you go home earlier. It is supposed to work 8h a day but you actually work 3 or 4. They just ask you to go home.

Supervisors are terrible They do not respect people and are not willing to teach anybody. If you do something wrong because they did not teach you, they scream and give you a hard time thinking that you should know that....anyway....if this is the only option you have....go for it. I rather work anywhere else than work there.

Truck drivers will be pushing & pulling 140lb of 22 bins per trip no tools or equipments to Loading & unloading of 22bins is a must. There are 3 trips for each driver each trip need loading & unloading by driver. The hotel docks are in very tricky spots sometime you are reverse driving in two storey down the lot. It's beyond tiring job & pay needs adjustment for the driver or need extra loader. They are running against safety scale some day or other they will be sitting at very wrong situation. 

It’s awesome doing Linen as we all know what it’s all about when it comes to Linen it’s not always fun but it’s actually competitive and the machine doesn’t like that’s the best thing I love about K BRO and I feel so blessed having to have people from all nation coming together  working as one and I love actually everything about the Linen, from the laundry to the ironing and stacking the carts with the sheets and rapping  with a tape for finishing and then wait for it to get loaded up in the trucks for final delivery 

The attitude of the management  was not fair to people while k bro linen was going through many changes. One building was closed after other big building was being built.. The supervisors, employees and management did not work together good while the management focused on new building being built. Many people do not speak English as  first language. There were Different  cultures and different languages. Many misunderstandings happened. Apologies were done but the placements of jobs were not fair to everyone.
