Ok workplace. I had a lot of Nice co-workers. Just long hours, and a lot of work. Their salary + commission pay plan is really bad, especially when comparing to other companies with the same position. Everything’s old school, they have no new technology. Everyone gets paid by check, and no raises. Management is bad, and nepotism ruins this store, from the top to the bottom. They will hire family or promote them over highly skilled and experienced individuals. On the other hand, the amount of unprofessionalism that occurs on a day to day basis is ridiculous. Especially from management. Management acts like they care, only when you benefit them. Half the time, instead of working with you they are more focused on talking down on you and various other co workers. Kia is a great brand, that I stand behind and will continue to stand behind, but my recommendation would be that if you want to just get your foot in the door for a sales career, or you are at the end of your career. This is the place to go. Besides those things, I’d steer elsewhere, especially if you can sell cars and have a high ceiling. 

Sherwood Kia is managed by people who not only have no idea what they are doing but they play favourites and go out of their way to be rude and difficult to work with if they do not like you. Several areas of the shop are hazardous to the point that injury can occur including a moderate to severe propane leak that was known about by both managers and the owner of the dealership yet nothing was done about it. The pay is terrible and the person in charge of pay cons you of money. I know this because i recorded my hours, calculated it to the cent and taken taxes off and was still short ranging from 8 dollars to an entire 150 dollars off which several other workers have noticed and talked to her which only led to the workers being written up and getting in trouble. You cannot get ahold of anyone to know what your schedule is and they will not respond when you ask for days off. If you go on vacation for a week they will slash your hours heavily. Do not work for this company unless you like being screwed over on the daily, picked on by managers and dealing with a hazardous work environment.

Worked here for about 2 weeks before getting fired and while I enjoyed my time here I did notice some questionable decisions. First off, it seemed very unprofessional and unorganized in terms of a detailing position. I never even got to meet the main manager of the building and I never was fully integrated into the system of clocking in and out. Next is that they barely train you, they basically just give you a car and tell you to clean it MAYBE giving you a list of what to do. For me this resulted in my supervisor saying my work was (and I quote) "shi**y and unacceptable" despite not knowing what I was even doing. They said they'd give me one more chance but as I came into my next shift they fired me even after I researched how to properly detail like they said I should. Breaks were also never discussed so I would work 6 hour shifts without a single break. Overall it felt very informal and frankly unorganized. Would I recommend it? If you've detailed cars before then yes, as a first job or even first job involving cleaning cars? I would never recommend it.

Auto sales is great if you want to make money fast. But it's not the best atmosphere to work. Everyone is trying under-cut someone. Advancement really only happens if you know someone. And generally there is always a new face just hired because the other sales person quit. Even when you have days off or ask for time off to relax and charge your batteries management always expects you to come in to do the smallest and menial tasks. It's not the best to work in but there usually is always something worse. But the pay is great if you don't want to have a life, kids, a wife or anything social really.

•Recruiting, training, mentoring, and developing the marketing team. •Restructuring and determining the department’s objectives. •Measuring advertising effectiveness. •Improving return on investments. •Allocating marketing budgets. •Optimizing sales results & targets. •Formulating cost effective creative promotional, branding and positioning recommendations. •Increasing awareness for all models. •Prospecting and securing new clients. •Negotiated corporate agreements. •Providing and presenting to the CEO, CFO, and MD reports and enhanced strategic plans.

A typical day would start off with a meeting where the management shares targets and goals including things we can do better as a whole. Of course, entertain customers in the showroom, understand their needs and show them selective choices suitable for them. Write up offers and negotiate for a better deal. Complete the paper work and do credit applications. However, when there are no customers, make phone calls, take leads from the manager to acquire new prospects.

KIA is professional and fun.
We handled customer complaints with care and occasionally blew off some steam with a team luncheon.
We had quarterly company functions to built a strong corporate team.
KIA is a Korean owned company all of it's executives are sent from Korea and rotated, including the President.
KIA offered great support to the customer Service team from all departments; this was desirable in providing the best assistance and closure to any consumer challenge and service.

Honestly, there is nothing worth working there.

Being yelled at by the managers, and called an idiot when you ask for help. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Completely god awful. Had to have multiple mental health days working there. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Getting yelled at, not getting properly trained. Go for lunch, then it all starts all over again.

While Kia was once synonymous with basic, bland transportation that happened to have stellar warranties, it now makes some of the most striking and competitive cars in the business—that still have stellar warranties. What is the best part of working at the company?
Manager run it like a sweat shop and expects people to do the job of 3 people for lower then the average pay. You will never mean anything to them and will be replaced in a second. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working 3-4 positions for minimum pay. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic very toxic. Manager try’s to not take any responsibility and passes blame onto everyone around
