This company is more flexible to work for than the Health Authority.  I don't have to put my holiday requests in 6 months in advance which is really nice.  If I have a problem, I can usually speak to a manager about it immediately and they seem to do their best to solve my concern or questions.  The best thing though is my co-workers, they are easy to get along with and they really seem to know why they are there and care about the clients.
A typical day is reviewing the 24 hour report, finding out current client status, then I complete assessments, medication administration, wound care, updating care plans etc.
The hardest part of the job is the palliative care, the most enjoyable part of the job is making a difference and making the clients happy.  I have learned quite a bit from the RNs and the other nurses, lots of them have many years of experience in various settings so quite knowledgeable

Well appointed site, with friendly and helpful co-workers who are committed to their residents, families, and co-team members. Supportive and collaborative team environment where residents and their quality of life is the focus everyday. The creek behind the site and the trail in front provide opportunity for fresh air and excercise during the work day for employees and a peaceful setting for families and residents to enjoy visits. You leave work everyday knowing you have made a difference for people and that your work matters!




Based on my personal experience, this workplace has a toxic and unprofessional culture. Management communication was very poor, and I experienced what felt like harassment , unfair treatment and discrimination. 

Me and coworkers were terminated without clear explanation or documented performance issues, which felt sudden and unjust. This created a high level of stress and fear among staff.

Overall, this was not a supportive environment for HCAs, and I would not recommend this employer

Terrible workplace culture. The employees live in fear that any mistake made will be the one that gets them fired. And, they're not wrong. Management fires employees instead of working through mistakes and gives reasons for the termination that don't stand up to basic questions.
Very clique-based socializing. If you don't fit with the "in" group, you're out.
Building is also old and some of the floors are starting to become slanted.

I can easily go to management and know that they will support me no matter what. They are very understanding and if I have a concern, we will come up with a conclusion together. The care staff are extremely friendly and have helped me adjust when I first started. It was a very enjoyable experience working with the residents, and alongside my colleagues.

The work environment is very small and it’s like one big family

The workers are so pleasant to work with, and you have a wide variety of tasks, which keeps you busy. Because of the welcoming community (workers and residents) you have a lot of opportunity to grow and expand specific in your field of work at the site, always learning new things.

It is a great place to work, everyone is very friendly and always willing to help if you have any questions. You get lots of calls to come into work, which is great if you are on the casual list. Management is flexible if someone comes up in your life and require a day off.

Productive work environment with opportunities to learn and improve skills. The team can be supportive during busy shifts, and the fast-paced atmosphere helps build experience in customer service and teamwork. Good place for people who enjoy staying active and working with others.
