While there is the benefit of a smaller company with more relaxed culture, that does not outweigh everything wrong with the company.

Management has entitlement issues, but I don't think they're aware. This manifests itself in some real rotten attitudes from time to time. I have watched a particular unnamed one scream at an office worker and embarrass him in front of a silent office. This unnamed manager has anger issues. And at Kane, these go unchecked. Unreprimanded. 

We do get some free lunches a couple times per year. Outside of that the benefits are slim. No out-of-work events really, so there's not much of a close-knit culture here.

You have to have been working here for many years and be a favorite to be making anything close to a reasonable salary (that other companies would start you at). It's borderline minimum wage for most. Sales staff get preferential treatment with quarterly bonuses. Management positively spoiled. Everyone else gets left in the dust.

If you complain to HR, it will be gossiped about, you will get retaliated against, made fun of behind closed doors, and then ultimately ignored. So nothing really changes here. It's also a revolving door of staff, and it's no wonder they can't keep most people for very long. It's very easy to find.

I have heard many stories of how the company was ran before it was sold and a new Canadian director of operations was installed. It sounds wonderful, but something of the past.

The company pours money into management and sales but neglects everyone else, to the point that you feel unappreciated, and resentment builds. It's borderline depressing some days here.

It’s not a terrible place to work but it became very cliquey as time went on. Lots of two faced politics and got gossipy. Several long term employees are used to the miserable nature of their situation and do not seek positive change.

If you feel you can do more with your life use Kane as a stepping stone because it was a place for second chances and the downtrodden to find some stability and purpose again. 

Work there, try to keep to yourself because the environment got kind of toxic and someone needs to be the target. It’s very us vs them. Lots of groups do not speak fondly of each other. And yes there is butt kissing!

The work isn’t super hard, there is lots of freedom when you’ve proven yourself. Nice lunch room. Lots of free food events. Some very decent souls. But many people there have been there for too long and relationships are souring. 

It’s a fairly clean warehouse as well. 
Very decent equipment. Power jacks and forklifts are modern. They, like many companies accepted the Covid regulations and they also appeared to enjoy adhering to the mandates.

Not the worst not the best. It’s a perfect fit for some people but definitely not me.  


The managers micromanage everything but blame everyone else when it fails.  You may get opportunities to learn new skills, but never a pay raise, even if your responsibilities sky rocket. prepare to get blamed for stuff you didn't do, or stuff you did under direct orders from management. the CEO refuses to fix the underlying issues and flatly ignores complaints.

There is no room for advancement. Job security is high if you're willing to put up with useless managers at all levels.

The stress of dealing with the managers by far outweighed any of the small benefits and wage i was paid.

Suggestions are rarely welcome. Complaints or discontent will be responded to with being fired instead of addressing the underlying issues.

A fantastic place to work. I never once woke up dreading going in.

I do think that employee's day to day experience depending heavily on their direct report and attitude. 

Management lets you do your job and removes roadblocks. They will recognize and reward you based on the quality of the job you do. Management also makes you feel like your opinion and input actually matters, and will put it into practice. They can be really friendly and easy to talk to with unless you have work issues and poor work ethic.

I'm constantly challenged by the work, which has helped me learn and grow so quickly.

Overall...the people, culture, management, and work/life balance are all incredible!

Head office is a mess and treats Cambridge staff like garbage. HR is just a lacky to the CEO so making a complaint is like signing your termination papers. Get on the bad side of either one and it is irrepairable. The few management that actually cared about their staff are long gone. The current warehouse manager is inexperienced and hard to get along with. Holds grudges and doesn't opperate with fairness and equality. Power trip 101. Good for temporary work but don't plan on a future.

This was just a job i use to go to with my mom when i was younger to give me some work building skills. i would clean out all the offices, change and take out the garbage, clean bathrooms, dust make sure everything was all nice and clean for the morning. I didn't really have "co-workers" it was just a job my mom offered me and of course being younger and getting the chance to make money was always something exciting. The most enjoyable part for me that young was knowing i was getting work field experience and making some money for myself on the side.

This is by far the worst job I have ever had. The worst managed company I have ever seen. The people at the top don't care about you or the company; they are just waiting for head office to step in and shut the place down so they can get paid out. They fire people on a whim, you have zero job security; not that it matters because the pay is so low. It use to be an amazing place to work when the origional owners controlled it but as soon as they sold he company and put this management in place it's been a fast decline.

I have been at Kane for 15 years and love it.  If I didn't like it, I wouldn't have stayed so long!  This place has given me life-long friendships and taught me responsibility and leadership.
There are many tenured people, which goes to show how the company treats its valued employees.  You are treated with respect, if you treat others with respect.  If you keep your head down and work hard, you can go anywhere.

We have staff lunches, barbeques, breakfasts, treat days.  The atmosphere is relaxed and really enjoyable.

Very busy warehouse, sometimes Fridays are a bit slower, but always something to do.  Once you learn your job, managers pretty much leave you alone.  Majority of the people are very nice, helpful and pleasant to work with.  

Typical warehouse work.  Pick orders using an RF Scanner.  Use a pallet jack or power jack when picking big orders or use a cart for smaller orders.  

Got to learn different areas of the warehouse.

Used to be a great company with great people. Manager retired and they hired someone from outside the company who laid off people unfairly no reason. I was also past probation.
