As a technician, I ran testing on tanks to make sure they met certain customer criteria. The entire team there (manager, tech supervisor, engineers, and other technicians) was structured in a way so that there was always support for me if I needed it during my various testing. Truth be told, testing can sometimes be extremely repetitive and tedious, and sometimes I felt like some testing was pointless, but I guess that's just my opinion. The pay given to technicians is pretty good if one were to take into account that the job really isn't too hard; sometimes I felt like I could've done the same job successfully coming out of high school as the only real skills required is proper use of hand tools, and following testing procedure properly. I also liked that it mixed hands on work with desk work so one could get a good balance of both. The best part about that place was the management; always there if help/opinion was needed but wasn't overbearing at all. Technicians would be given a test to conduct, and after initial review of proper test procedures with an engineer there, the technician would be left alone to conduct all testing independently.

I'm an assembler, The culture in this organization is one of lethargy and poor ethic. Kautex preaches equality, environmental protection and attention to detail, but they fall short of all these goals. Employees (both floor staff and leadership) are lazy, leading to a culture that does not benefit the agency at all. At the end of the day, you get paid a little over miniumum wage (after five years you may be making 18/hr), to do monotonous tasks. A two week swing shift is not conducive to a normal life; you will be sacrificing a stable time table and unable to keep in good standing with volunteer organizations or various extra-curricular clubs. you will be told not to do certain tasks during your orientation, but once hired you will be asked and expected to do those very tasks, all of which can lead to injury. If you work here, do so for a short time and move on.

A typical day at work is filled with responding to "fires" as this is where the culture is at. Nothing is a problem until it is a major problem. Extremely reactive with little proactive steps taken to avoid issues.
Very little meaningful structure with respect to business/process standards leading to manufacturing instability and customer dissatisfaction.

It is a check box culture meaning they don't have a visceral understanding of the benefits of structure and process. Focused on "manufacturing at all costs"- very dark ages and not reflective of a company with a global presence. 

Very week management team resulting in manufacturing chaos. They don't know what they don't know and don't seek outside benchmarking opportunities to improve their business. Stagnant with respect to continuous improvement.


I wasn't at Kautex for very long, because I saw too many red flags in rapid succession -- Contradictions from management, low regard for safety, cutting corners, they made me sign off on being trained to do things I wasn't, I saw a guy walk into a welding cell without locking it out (he got shocked), etc. etc. etc.

On top of that, the pay really isn't ideal especially compared to similar factories in the area which just kind of makes it all not worth it.

In conjunction to my other statements, while I was there management was constantly breathing down everyone's necks and it appeared to create a lot of resentment amongst the workers.  As well, the more senior staff seemed to have a higher than usual level of entitlement -- especially when it came to overtime.

Kautex is a really fun place to work, I got to learn a lot about working fast pace in a conveyor belt that does not stop for you by any means necessary, I also learned a lot about time management so I can get to the acquired tanks made in an hour. The management at kautex is amazing everyone is very professional and is always glad to help if help is needed, The workplace has a lot of friendly people and everyone treats each other like family no matter what goes on in the work place. There isn't really a hard part about this job because it is very straight forward and it is is a repetitive job. the best part about the job is finding a flow and keeping that flow for the next 8 hours while talking with the people around you.

My department is very poorly managed. Leaders are technically proficient but not very capable leaders. Lots of box checking to please the higher-ups and avoid getting in trouble, but little real concern about lasting or effective change. Team members aren't made accountable by management and managers don't enforce policies or procedures. Leaders quick to point the finger and assign blame to subordinates. At the end of the day, the company treats you like a number and the goal seems to be only to ensure you look good and aren't the one in trouble. Disappointing.

At Kautex Textron, I had the perfect environment and workplace to practice my passion and apply what I have leaned in school. I learned how to overcome the challenges in the production line with the help of an amazing engineers. I was provided with a full office equipped with everything an Industrial Engineer needs. Also, I had given overnight access to the plant as well as the office. These benefits encouraged me to fulfill the requirement of the job and to reach the objective of the project.

Unfortunately the economic problem that our country is confronting damage this company and they give a massive laid off, the company still operating but at the minimun after that have almost 500 hundred employees is operating with no even 50.

Not enough operators working in company & too many people working in office.    That they don't need , new lines setup so bad , that they keep having issues , bad designed was done by un  experienced engineer was been hired by company, if their issues with line  , no one take responsibility for bad design setup, but they blame operators 

I was placed here by Agilus as a General Labourer.  After 3 months I was laid off with no clear explanation.  I experienced many cancellations while I was there.  The work was usually easy but not very stimulating.  The supervisors and employees were nice at least.
