Kawaii Crepe

Hours are mid depending on what you're looking for. If you're looking for something part-time, it's doable but if you're looking for full-time 35-40 hours a week, good luck. It is impossible to get those hours if it's on the schedule. The only possible way is if a coworker calls in and the on-call denies their on-call shift (which some people do without repercussion). Depending on what store you work at, your co-workers define how the shift will be (which is typical for any type of job). The co-workers you work with will talk behind your back if you don't do well on days of your shift or if they don't like you to other co-workers.  Feels like you have to be fake throughout your whole shift which gets tiring. If you mess up by accident on the floor, the staff will hold it against you for the rest of your time. Upper management/the office has never worked in the front or worked ever a shift with the staff thus leading expectation that they do not know what they are doing or talking about. With old management, it was known that the management knew what to do and considered the staff's opinion as well. With new management, they disregard the ideas or opinions of staff so it is either their way or the highway leading to certain crepes tasting not good (and are bad). Crepes itself has not been the same leading to the store not being as busy as it used to be. Was told that as long as they made sales, managers could sit in the office for their whole shift if they wanted thus leading the staff that work with them to work by themself which gets stressful. Pay is not worth what amount of work the staff do especially for the shift leads. Overall, my experience in the workplace was sufficient enough that it was good back then but now it is not worth risking your mental health. If you are applying to this job, be prepared for uncertainty with this job because it happens more often than it appears to be.

My time at Kawaii started with 3 interviews just to land the taste of the job. 1st interview I was sent to the wrong address. Second interview no one showed up and they didn’t answer me for hours after. 3rd interview went well and I had got the position. The work on the job is fast paced at times but for the most part rather easy and fun with great coworkers. The bulk of the problems with kawaii crepe lie within the management. Upon giving my two weeks notice to the company I was asked about my reason and upon my response which mentions a disagreement with the employee contract I was completely ignored. I have yet to hear another word from the company. I feel this is quite disrespectful from management. Very unprofessional. Made me confident in my decision to leave this company. The staff on the floor are an amazing group of people and are certainly great to work with but ultimately I strongly disagree with many policies management has such as the on call which you are not paid for and when your maximum shifts are listed as 4 I was averaging another 2 days a week on call usually getting called in once every 2 weeks.I also disagreed with the way tips were orchestrated and the incentive being withdrawn as punishment for not making on calls or shifts.Since I was ignored by the company in an attempt to detail my reason for leaving it will now be found here. 

It was a typical food service job at first glance. My shift lead was expecting me to be able to do prep, drinks, and till at the same time when I was new and it was very difficult since its busy.
By the way, you don't get paid for 'taste of the job' AKA 4 hours of unpaid work, 
Management is terrible. They're very micromanaging with things I did. As I trained , I had to take a picture each time I prepped something new and have it approved by the owner, then after you have to take pictures of the crepes you make. The shift leads were always breathing down my back too. Management doesn't give you tips when you start and when you do get tips, they're held back if you don't go to unpaid meetings. Management was constantly hiring new people and pushing out already trained staff. They ignore your rights as an employee and will dispose of you (cut shifts) if you speak up for yourself. 
The owner is disrespectful to old and new employees, but the old employees are fine with being treated like garbage, so if you want to deal with that in your job, then go ahead. 
The amount of stress that this workplace managed to give me in a few weeks should be a world record. Do yourself a favour and don't go to taste of the job. You can find a better job, I promise.

The management is bad in some ways, good in some. Just like any other workplace. There is for sure a lot of favouritism when it comes to management and tips dont go as far for management too really. Most of the tips i got where too low in my opinion for the work i’ve done and seniority compared to some who became a supervisor like myself. Some months they dont even give out tips just because of something really minimal like the worst reason was just because we cant control where the doordash/skip drivers line up. They took away all the supervisors’ incentives just because of that. They can be friendly at times and even generous but mostly i didnt feel comfortable with the way things worked/managed

Only place I have ever walked out of, mid shift. I was prevented from doing my job, with a line up to the door. I was demeaned in front of customers, constantly. I was a shift lead. Owner and her sister would berate me, illegally watch cameras from over seas, and micromanage. Unpaid staff meetings made mandatory, under threat of loss of tips. Ridiculous hours -  14 days in a row sometimes. Absolutely unrealistic and unreasonable wage/hours demanded, to the detriment of customer service and staff morale. Deletion of bad reviews from websites. 
Most toxic work environment I have ever had the displeasure of working at.

Most workers were very rushed and rude when I was training. Manager was all over the place and didn't give clear instructions, often left during training sessions or got someone inexperienced to take over training me which led to the employee getting stressed and snappy with me cause she had to manage more than one thing. Too small of a working place to get things done quickly and efficiently. Understaffed and WAY too busy.

manager who i was working with on a weekend morning left me (a new employee) to handle a rush on my own and told the mid shift employee (that i should’ve had with me) to not come in. then told my coworkers (who i’m friends with and told me lol) that my floor was messy. which ya?? sorry i didn’t have time to clean when i was handling the entire front for hours on my own 

I'm sure the owners used to be kind people but have become tyrannical, micro-managing, unpredictable, and cynical. Expectations were constantly shifting and the longer you worked there, the more cynical and critical management was towards you. If not for the fabulous coworkers and the fun type of work, nobody would be able to stay more than a few months.

The job was enjoyable , but the people you work with toxic. They constantly say bad things about the company and other people working their Management used to be good, then turned terrible . They changed so many things which make it annoying to work. So much unpleasant experiences too.

the staff are mostly awesome, the management team is great, but the owner is super unorganized. you don't get your schedule until the day before usually. expect your schedule to be all over the place, the tips are called incentives and they are not distributed properly.
