I’ve worked at this company as a construction landscaper for 1 month now and it’s already the most informative experience I’ve had in the industry.  This is how a landscape company should function in terms of the treatment of its employees.  The 2 days of initial classroom style learning are supplemented with equipment training and a comprehensive series of guides on day to day activities.  There is a further orientation period that extends throughout the following weeks.  This encompasses on site learning, more in depth training with equipment and tools, as well as supervised independent learning.  The management is keen to take notice of effort and boasts a healthy understanding of patience.  Workplace culture at this company is exactly as advertised on the website.  Company values and policy are upheld at all levels.  Every employee seems curated for their position and role.  I see long term potential for myself at this company.  There appears to be valid reason for loyalty as opportunities for advancement here are plentiful.  

In a job like this, the people are often the only thing that makes the work tolerable.  The weather is frequently difficult.  Projects are demanding.  Hours can be long.  I’m happy to say that the people here not only make the work tolerable, but make it enjoyable.  The weather has just as many good days as it does bad.  The pride I feel in completing a project always makes the effort worth it.  The hours blow by unlike any other job I’ve had.  Most importantly, I feel compensated fairly in every facet.

Kayben has been an incredible place to Work at. The people are constantly helping each other and there is never a need to be scared to ask for help. When I first joined at Kayben I was not knowledgeable about landscaping whatsoever, regardless of my skills and knowledge, my managers and fellow employees helped me through everything I needed to know. Although the job gets hard at some points, it is always going to get better as this company cares about each and every employee under its wing. I cannot say enough about how good the workplace culture truly is. Having food provided to us after work on fridays, the independence of each worker, the fact that each person who works here gets along swimmingly because of how good this job is, this company truly does have the best workplace culture. Throughout my two years of employment, there has not been a single employee that I have disliked, each employee is picked so precisely that most of the time they end up becoming lifelong friends. Overall I have really enjoyed working at Kayben, best job I have ever had by a landslide.

In the 4 months that I have worked at Kayben, it is so far the best experience I've had at any landscape company I've worked for. Right off the bat instead of putting me straight to work, I had to go through 2 days of training, around 14 hours which I found very beneficial. Even though some of the things taught I found common sense, to someone who has no experience it would be very helpful. The role that I was put in after getting hired was very fair for the amount of experience I have and the same goes for everyone else. To add to that I have progressed within the company very quickly, and instead of throwing me into each role without any preparation, Kayben provides things like leadership meetings to better prepare us for leading a crew. I also love the fact that since we have a few different crews and are split up most days, Kayben will take every Friday and make burgers at the farm after our work day so all employees can get together. Overall I am very happy with my experience at Kayben.     

I began at Kayben Landscaping in 2006, starting as a labourer, I continued to develop skills and knowledge from their in-house training and become a foreman. The company provided ongoing training and education to further career growth. With their continued education program and support, I received my Journeyman certificate through Olds College.  With their Leadership training programs and career advancement within the company, I was promoted to a management role. What sets Kayben apart is the culture, all staff members become friends quite quickly and support each other both personally and professionally. The owner puts on regular BBQs and social time to celebrate and thank all staff members for their hard work. The most enjoyable part of working at Kayben is being a part of a great team that looks out for each other and has fun working hard in creating quality Landscapes. 

I started as a Landscape laborer here 4 years ago. Quickly felt very comfortable in my role and was coached and trained to become a Foreman. From there I was given the opportunity for more education and training and am now a design and estimator for the company as well as the manager for all recurring maintenance and contracts. The feel within the company is very cohesive and I feel they do an amazing job promoting individuals into roles they are striving for and will be successful in.

i’ve been a snow removal/Maintenance labourer at Kayben Landscaping for a bit over a year. The training does at very good job at getting you comfortable with health and safety and equipment, as well as letting you get to know other crew members, which is great because the job we do relies on us working together and supporting each other as a team. From the start of my employment to now,  i’ve learned and been given the opportunities to allow me to be more and progress in the company.

I have had the pleasure of working here for 2 months and have enjoyed every minute of it!
Great people all around and immediately welcomed me with open arms and allowed me to bring the full force of my experience to the table. The atmosphere here has made it feel like I have worked here for years! Plenty of growth opportunities and can not beat the opportunity for growth and success! Even if you are coming in “Green” there are plenty of training opportunities to get you up to speed! Overall this is a great company to work for and look forward to many years to come with this great team! 

The work place culture is very positive. They take lots of care to train you and have patience for you when you are learning.
I’m coming up on 8 weeks working for Kayben and it’s been a real growing experience for me. I’ve learned a lot about how to operate the machines and how to be a diligent labourer. The training I’ve received has been thorough and ongoing. I learn new things everyday. There appears to be lots of room for advancement at Kayben.

Kayben is a great family run business which has an amazing workplace culture that makes you feel apart of the family. The people are great and all mix and work well together from all positions.  Management is very personal and gets to know each and everyone on a personal level which establishes the family orientated community very well. I have learned so much at Kayben and keep learning as there is always room to grow and develop different areas of strength.

I started at Kayben Landscaping as a laborer 11 years ago and progressed to the foreman role. I received all the training needed to succeed and have also taken on the role as training officer and safety coordinator. The management at Kayben have been very supportive and you can tell they care about their employees. The company culture is also very welcoming and positive, everyone works well together and you enjoy coming to work in the morning.
