This company makes chairs that cost thousands of dollars. Yet they can't afford to provide properly fitting PPE or essential tools for assembly. This week when a spray bottle full of denatured alcohol cracked, it was patched with scotch tape instead of being replaced. They can afford to charge over $1000.00 for a barstool, but can't afford something that could easily be found at a Dollarstore. Essential tools and equipment are perpetually "back ordered" from some third party company, leaving assemblers trying to hunt down specific drill bits or other equipment, wasting time and energy running up and down the warehouse. Workers constantly try to get each other in trouble with management. You are always under scrutiny from other workers trying to catch you in a mistake, so they can report you.  There is a general lack of accountability present at this company. The company relies heavily on employee overtime to catch up on their delays. Production is constantly behind by as much as sixty hours. Work done during overtime barely makes a dent in this delay, with entire sections of the warehouse being completely empty on overtime days. With more than half of the workers absent, production slows to a crawl, yet the supervisors keep the same level of pressure. This company does not seem to value it's workers despite heaping unrealistic expectations on them. 

A typical day at work would consist of going to my supervisor to pick up a pick list of the parts that needed to be picked for the day.  I would ensure that all the parts for each chair is located and put together for the production line.  The office chairs would then be ready to be assembled there.  I would also have to communicate with fellow workers about any damaged parts and then write up a report for any damaged parts.  I learned how to communicate with fellow workers professionally.  Keilhauer's management was flawless.  The supervisors did their jobs well, and everything fell under the proper hierarchy.  The hardest part of the job was working in the factory during the summer when it was really hot, as certain parts of the factory were really hot.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the great people that worked for Keilhauer.  Some of the kindest and helpful people I've ever met.

The thing I enjoyed most about working here was the quarterly parties.   I especially enjoyed that it was my responsibility to organize them, from catering to awards, to presentation, to the ice cream truck at the summer BBQ.  It was a great way to show appreciation for employees, recognize employees who had reached career tenure milestones, as well as provided an update on the companies previous quarter and learn about what is coming in the next quarter.

Customer Service.  Friendly Warm atmosphere.  Learned quite a bit of the manufacturing industry. Factory was on premises and learned hands on start to finish manufacturing furniture.
Co-Workers were fantastic.  
I was temporary assistant Manager in Customer Service which was exciting and a great learning process.
Hardest part of the job was the drive and traffic.

When you new to this company they don't give u that much training. they don't have proper trainers. The higher level of management is good. But at the lower level, they don't care anything. Just they wants to finish the schedules. Unprofessional supervisors. HARD TO GET A RAISE. compare to the market ,the wages are average. it takes a long time to learn some other jobs. 

I found that certain departments were very cliquey like they're all still in high school. All you can hear is workers talking bad about their own "team members". And if one person doesn't like you, then the rest of the squad doesn't like you. Couldn't even try to be friendly with them since they wouldn't make eye contact or speak to you - almost like you're invisible. 

I enjoyed my time at Keilhauer as I was able to advance quickly within the organization.

Management is great and the President is an incredible and respected leader in the Furniture Industry.

I'm blessed to have been an integral part of the company for 7+ years, allowing me to maximize my growth within the organization.

7am-4pm workday

Toxic work environment due to poor management.  Upper team seems to be blinded by it all or is covering their eyes as they do not want to find a replacement for 30+ year employee who is bringing down the departmentS. Little to no room for growth. I would stay far away from this place.  It’s a fake family environment.  

The company looks after its employees when it comes to perks,bonuses etc. Based on it being a family owned/run company, there is a focus on a good work/life balance that allows you to enjoy life outside of work.
