Keirton is an exciting and innovative company in a quickly expanding industry. Always looking for a better way to operate, Keirton is very progressive as improving and expanding systems and operations is in constant pursuit. There is a strong company culture and everyone on the bus has good alignment with the core values. Employees gets along great, and for a growing company, it still has a small company feel. All staff members have regular one-on-ones with direct managers, as well as daily huddles and weekly meetings with their teams to improve communication and accountability. Weekly company huddles with all staff and quarterly townhalls keep everyone informed and focused on the company vision. Open book management gives opportunity for all levels of staff within the company to be involved and informed, and provide feedback to make the company a better place to be. Keirton is highly focused on employee engagement and satisfaction, which, unfortunately, can tend to get out of balance at times with aggressive growth, historically high seasonal sales cycles and a driven group of go-getters. Thorough engagement surveys have recently been introduced and all staff are encouraged to work with each other to improve their engagement and make it their own. 
Keirton is an innovation company, focusing heavily into R&D and product development. I am constantly learning new things and there's never a dull day nor a lack of challenges. The energy, passion and strong comradery between teams more than makes up for the biggest challenge which continue to be managing growth. 

Worked for them for a few years and loved my job, but now would only recommend them to my worst enemy. Since the previous partner left, the remaining partner has let things slip. Probably in part because he’s never there to handle anything himself. He used to be very hands on, now you’re lucky if you get a sentence out of him in 6 months. They’ve aggressively expanded, filling positions too fast, and grossly overreached. Competition in the market from the previous partner is making the current one paranoid. So much so that they seem to be cutting ties to any long-term employees that used to work under the previous partnership. Very much a smile-in-your-face while stabbing-you-in-the-back kind of environment now. Sales and marketing seem to be the only departments that get any credit for anything. Everyone is expendable. Largley made up of younger people (under 40) but if you’re family-minded, you need not apply. When you return from mat leave, don’t expect your job to still be there... but fear not, they’ll find “something” for you. However, that something may be far below your pay grade. Just watched a long-term employee be let go for no reason. Probably because they made more than the new management team wanted to pay for them. Seriously, I used to be their biggest advocate. Now I say run, run as fast as you can.

Keirton is an amazing place to work not only because of its great culture and people, but also because of the work you get to do here - you never get bored :)

In the last few years the company has seen a very fast growth and currently has people employed in Canada, USA and Europe, and over 100 permanent and temporary staff members. The managers are constantly working on developing their skills in order to become the best leaders for their teams and although this is a process that takes time, they never give up.

During the COVID pandemic the leadership team has been quick to act and ensured the business continued to grow without any layoffs due to COVID. Mental health has been a major focus throughout this time and people have come together to support each other.

Overall, I've had a great experience at Keirton, despite the occasional setbacks coming from growing too fast, like the lack of well defined processes in certain areas of the business; lack of resources, at times; certain managers growing in their leadership roles slower than others and insufficient office and production space.


I've learned so much during my time at Keirton! The company culture and my continued growth are part of why after 5 years I look forward to many more. Keirton is a fast paced and high growth company. This provides many opportunities for employees to learn, grow, and advance, all with the company's support. That pace isn't for everyone though, growth often happens in periods of discomfort or feeling stretched. Personally, I love that! 

The culture is fun, energetic and collaborative. Summer bbq's, go carting, lunch and learns, post townhall drinks, and weekly yoga are examples of company functions that allow employees to connect and have fun together.

Pros: 
- The People: there's a reason the hiring process is picky
- The fun perks: occasional beer Friday socials, team events like go-karting, axe throwing, etcetera, and bonus opportunities
- Training: career development encouraged
- The CEO: present and actively cares about employee mental health

Cons:
- Overtime, overtime, overtime. Leadership acknowledges employee capacity but at the same time some are struggling to find a work/life balance, across the company
- Growing pains: the company moves FAST
- Minimal parking at the locations. Be prepared!

Leadership is very focused on employees achieving both professional and personal goals. Staff are encourage to participate in courses to continually develop their skills. Open minded and willing to listen to all levels of staff members opinions/suggestions. Social and team building events planned through out the year. Family work culture. Can be stressful during busy season however company is very focused mental awareness and tries to organise things like yoga and other stress relief activities for its staff.

I've been watching the company for years and i was lucky enough to finally land a job.  The people are like no other company. No drama, just hard work and hard play.  Everyone has a plan to move forward in life and with the company.  The compensation is right up with the companies way larger.  I always get timely feedback to know how I'm doing and always have a venue to have my feelings and opinion heard. 

The people & culture are a lot of fun in an exciting industry. 
Core values are said to be of utmost importance but are not honored when times are tough.
Poor communication between departments & lacking change management = undo stress on a regular basis. 

Interview was very friendly.  Basically the HR and the department leader analysis your character and determine if you are the best fit for  Keirton. 
Tip: Relax and be yourself 

Great opportunity, fun, collaborative, best management I’ve ever had. Had opportunity to learn many aspects of engineering. Top rated small medium company of 2021.
