The work is fast paced and sometimes physically demanding but very satisfying. Pay is fair and management awards effort. Learning is hands on and when skill and interest was shown the company invested in my education. Culture is for the go getter blue collars but upbeat and friendly. Hardest part of the job is sometimes hard labor and long hours. if you like those things though it is perfect. You get to see every site start to finish so its very satisfying to make things better than they started.

I took a position with this company a few months ago, they sounded really good in the interview stage. I met all requirements for the position which by the way exceeded their on site arborist. I was being shown how to maintain trees by a person with enthusiasm and skills. The person I was working with was a chain smoker who smoked constantly in the truck, I spent allot of time with the window open (Disgusting). They have a fleet of pickups and gave me the worst piece  and expected me to just get in and go but the junk would not start. I would not recommend this company to anyone who is an experienced, competent, knowledgeable arborist, You will be disappointed quickly. I wonder if this review will be posted!!

The people and atmosphere is nice

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing really. Some jobs would take a little bit longer if tools weren't working properly.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very warm and welcoming environment 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Start with morning meetings about what's are gonna be done for the day and who's working with who. Loading up trucks with all the tools needed for said jobs and driving to job sites with loaded truck and trailer.

Was hired to work here to cut grass and weed whack.
The training since day one was terrible.
Sat around for 3 hours watching video with 30 other people with the returning staff sitting in the back talking loudly so none of the new staff could hear anything.
Didn’t show us how to use any of the equipment so you were on your own to figure it out. Even when asked to show you, it was explained really poorly.
Standing on your feet for 10+ hour days with 5 people in tiny trucks. Not really safe or comfortable.

KBG was one of the best summer jobs I've had. They are supportive and understanding, they pay great and there is rarely a shortage of hours. Only tough times of the year are Spring/Fall Clean-up which are long and hard days/weeks. Once you get through that, the general maintenance schedule is pretty good! Most of the staff are fun and friendly. I learned how to run several different types of equipment and to run my own crew after only 2 months.

I highly recommend them for summer employment!

Work days are fairly productive, makes the day go by quickly. If you're a responsible and reliable employee you have the opportunity to move up fairly quickly, most people are patient and willing to teach. Management is super understanding and easy to talk to, most mistakes are a learning opportunity. Everyone who works here is kind and fun to be around, makes the day go a lot easier!

They try and cut costs by offloading them onto the employee

Its toxic. Not worht being there. they will make you do unesecary things and try to avoid all saftey regulations

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Awuful, boring and soul sucking

Right from day one I was told by one of the two foreman’s that the culture has and will be off due to management restructuring. People constantly don’t show up for work. They offer a decent wage but there is zero room to grow. Prepare to get yelled at over it. Zero team effort. Employees are treated like peons. Management hides their hidden rules in the interview process. Would not recommend. 

Early mornings, high pace, late evenings. Physically demanding.
I learnt leadership skills, landscaping techniques, and heavy equipment operating. Understanding, willing to teach to the individual willing to learn. Fun and professional environment. Hardest part of the job is learning to do the duties and the first two weeks of hard physical labor. Working with a small crew and working at more than one location in a day.

The hours that you could work can range between 6-10 hours a day depending on where you're at in the season. A lot of good workers there and one of the best management I've had in a while. However, if you're not prepared to do some physical work I wouldn't recommend it to you otherwise they are very inclusive and open to everyone age and gender doesn't matter as long as you show up ready to work
