I also appreciate the opportunities to learn and grow. You are trusted with meaningful responsibilities, which helps you build confidence and develop your legal skills quickly. Whether it is drafting documents, communicating with clients, or preparing case files, the work is engaging and impactful.

On top of that, the work environment is professional but welcoming. Management is approachable, communication is clear, and hard work is recognized. It is a place where you can feel proud of the work you do while being part of a positive and motivated team.

Like any law firm environment, the most stressful part can be managing multiple deadlines at once. There are times when court filings, client communications, and  requests all need attention at the same time, which requires strong organization and time management skills.

However, the team does a great job of supporting one another during busy periods. Clear communication and collaboration help reduce stress, and over time you develop the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently. While the pace can be fast, it also keeps the work engaging and helps you grow professionally.

A typical day for me as a Legal Assistant is structured but fast paced. I start by reading any new emails, connecting with my team to confirm today's priorities, checking or confirming any client appointments, and them jumping into the work itself. 
Throughout the day, I work closely with my team to make sure everything is prepared accurately and done on time. No two days are exactly the same, which I like.  Some days are more deadline driven, while others focus on case preparation or client support. It is a role that requires organization and attention to detail, but it is also rewarding to see cases move forward because of the work you contribute.

Afternoons often involve scheduling, updating records, and making sure all documents are properly formatted, filed, and ready to go. There are usually moments where priorities shift quickly, especially when something time‑sensitive comes in, but the team is supportive and communicates well, which makes it manageable.

By the end of the day, there’s a real sense of accomplishment because you’ve contributed directly to keeping files moving smoothly and helping the legal team stay organized and prepared.

I’ve had a genuinely great experience working here and continue to do so! The whole team is incredibly supportive, collaborative, and welcoming. Everyone is willing to help and share knowledge, which creates a positive and motivating environment.

One of the things I appreciate most is the strong sense of connection across the workplace. Communication feels open and authentic between my peers, and it’s easy to build meaningful working relationships.

The social activities are another highlight. They bring people together beyond day-to-day tasks and really strengthen team spirit. It’s clear that the company values not just performance, but also culture and community.

The fast paced environment. Expectations are high given the nature of the work and timelines involved in the British Columbia legal system. With the right procedures and practices in place, the stress is easily managed.

Overall, positive and team oriented. Although there are several departments in the company, they often overlap and with plenty of social activities allowing the teams to mingle, it's clear the culture is community oriented and that is valued by all staff members.

It completely varies, which is why i like it so much.

I have worked in the legal field for over ten years and Kidston is by far the best firm I've ever worked at. They make a constant effort to ensure you are supported in your job and have a genuine appreciation for the work you contribute and make a continuous effort to show you that. 

Their compensation is great, they are flexible and accommodating with schedules (such a huge plus especially when you have little kids), offer great benefits for the family and they are overall a really fun, dedicated, intelligent group of professionals working efficiently together in the area of law. 

I would highly recommend this firm and the Kidston Team.

Vernon is a great location for this Company as I enjoy the Okanagan life style, also having the same interests with other members of staff is great so we can get together outside of work.

One of the best job. Work/life balance is amazing. The team is always there for support, no judgement and the company strives that everyone show up being their truest self. The benefits are great and leadership strives to ensure work life balance. 
Kidston pays competitively, the benefits are what you would expect in a big city and there are always lots of fun company events and events to recognize employees contributions.  

New employee but I'm thoroughly enjoying the office environment and culture. People are super friendly and willing to help everyone out. There is not a super hiearchy culture and everyone is treated the same regardless of your role. Really appreciate the little touches like books and gift cards for recognition.  A warm friendly family like environment. 

Management was fine but blind to the unhappiness and stress of their employees, or rather, had no solutions other than we are all stressed so deal with it. Strong lack of communication between everyone with respect to office precedents and procedure, which makes training new people severely difficult. 

In general the atmosphere is collaborative and friendly, with co-workers usually willing to help out however they can. There are plenty of activities that the firm plans throughout the year.
