a typical day would consist of showing up, getting work orders, have a manager come talk about what needs to get done while everyone ignored him and played on their phones. then half of the department went home or to a hide out, half of the remainder absorbed the work orders , the other half went around  sucking up to managers because they were incompetent and cant get through on their knowledge or experience due to having neither.  

Kinder Morgan is one of the best, if not the best, oil storage and transportation companies to work for in Canada. There is a feeling of a small to medium size company in it (although it is huge in USA), so you actually get things done, as well as en excellent work climate. I have always worked in the oil & gas, recently switched to pipeline business and feel really great about it. Kinder Morgan rocks!

Started work early in the morning and carried on till late evening. Project environment with extreme policing function. People watch each other and not a good working environment at all.

Juniors don't respect their seniors and seniors just trying to make shift arrangement due to working environment

Kinder Morgan is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America. We own an interest in or operate approximately 84,000 miles of pipelines and 157 terminals. Our pipelines transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) and more. Our terminals store and handle petroleum products, chemicals and other products.

Fast paced and days go quick.
Always improvement projects and initiatives to add interest and provide job satisfaction (from driving culture/safety/work practices forward).

Kinder Morgan appeared to be a strong company with a great goal of building a much needed piece of infrastructure for the Canadian Energy industry and other industries, but the Federal Government just can't seem to get it done. Disappointing. It's why I left.

Overall this is a good job. It can be stressful as there are many 811 calls and there are not many line riders to cover our area. There is no buffer management between corporate and the hourly guys, which can cause issues. Work life balance is good, I'm home at a reasonable hour most days.

New experience working for a motivated company.  Interesting personnel working within a Pipe Line company

It was a great place to work. I enjoyed the culture and the work I was doing.  The staff were helpful and the management took the time to explain what they wanted us to do and they gave positive feedback.
