It's a big trucking company. No better, no worse than most of the big carriers where you're just a number and nobody really cares about anything much less their employees. The only thing that matters is how much money you can make them, at any cost to the employee. If you're a driver, the take -home pay is not good and you will NEVER get an increase. On paper it's average, in reality, you will struggle to pay your bills unless you spend 31 days a month at work. If you're not a driver, in any other position, you will get much less $$$ than most other places for the same position. Things have got gradually worse over the years and just keep going downhill. The management is poor and the good managers usually leave anyway when they get no support for making anything better. There are a lot of great people working for the company who want to make it better, but get nowhere in the long run and eventually just go to work, do their time and go home without caring any more than that, because there's no point in caring. Everything is micromanaged based on how a manager or upper staff member wakes up that morning. Like I said, not the worst, not the best, just another big carrier. 

A typical day of work would be going in and calling customers to let them know that their shipments are in and collecting payment for the freight. Answering phones and helping customers with tracing or redirecting freight and any concerns they might have.

I have learned how to multi-task with this job and how to stay calm under pressure.

Management was easy to work with and very understanding. They would work with to help figure out solutions and solve problems.

Co-workers were great to work with as will and would lend a helping hand when needed. 

I don't believe I had a hard part to my job. It would get crazy busy with the phones but always seemed to work out. 

The most enjoyable part of my day was just going to work and working with a great staff and having a fun and enjoyable environment to work in.

Do not plan on making this company a career choice as you will find that it is not a company that pays well.  They are a small to midsize trucking company in the grand scheme of transportation and logistics. But that being said, they are a decent place to gain experience before moving onto greater positions and better companies.  Management seemed to have turnover issues and were probably not suited for the position to begin with.  Their company is old and falling apart; what I mean by that is the facilities are rundown, and their equipment is garbage.  I just don't see the company ever making serious investments in upgrading their image.

Tip: use this company as a place to gain experience only.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Most of the workers there were very respectful to each other 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Small size warehouse but sometimes lots of pallets of goods to be delivered are placed on the floor

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Everybody is aware of how to do their job and they all respect each other on the floor or in the office 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Show up to work check my emails sort out the bill of lading for each delivery put them together as per their assigned route get the warehouse guys to load them in the trailer and give the paperwork to the driver to go complete the delivery

Incompetent management, indiscret Human Resources department, no work life balance. They have no structured pay scale so the person sitting next to you might have started at a significantly higher salary for the same job. You literally cannot ask for a day off (even without pay) in your first year and unless you have kids, you can’t negotiate your shift whatsoever. You CANNOT transfer to other sister companies. You have to quit one first and cross your fingers. NO training and a mentality of “you’ll just know” runs rampant. No SOP’s for any task your asked to perform and prepare to be micromanaged in EVERY e-mail you send and phone call you make. You also can’t drink the tap water, but they won’t tell you that for months.

Siemens Transportation Group Inc. is a good employer with a wide variety of opportunities within the organization. My specific role was a great entry level position where I was able to learn a lot about the Transportation Industry. My manager was nothing less than a true professional who was also very fair and understanding. Additionally, the company is filled with really great people who I am glad I got to know.

My reason for leaving is simply due to the fact that the position did not align with my long-term goals. I would recommend this position to anyone looking to start their professional career.

Working at Kindersley was for me fun.  Somedays were more challenging than others, and yes there were challenges.  I really enjoyed talking to and getting to know our customers.  I had great relationships with all our customers and was always happy to assist them any way I could.  I learned many things at Kindersley, computer skills, more about shipping freight, and that a company such as this one cannot operate as a one man team.  It takes an entire team of many different people right from the head offices all the way to the shipping dock to make sure things are done right.  Team work is key.
I sometimes miss the environment.

Sucked to work here. If you’re good at your job (that is, if my manager was telling the truth), they will add/change more responsibilities without added compensation. Used to believe that they value their employees, but they really don’t. New law says you can have 10 paid sick days, HR will put you in their attendance program even if you haven’t exceeded/you are still within what the law allows you to. What a great way of showing trust to their employees. I know that some employees abuse these kind of leaves, but some do not. It’s just unfortunate that they can be really just sick.

I would show up everyday for work and not know what kind of day it would be until I assessed the manager mood.  Many times I'd come into work and my desk would be filled.  I'd have to sit in a chair until it became available.  It was an open floor plan and noisy and not much constructive help from the management.  They have a high volume of turn over there.

very poorly managed, high employee turn over, un-disclosed pay outs, very very bad dispatchers(send you to wrong address, load information, cannot even spell company or city locations correctly on e-log). very bad maintained docking terminals (mud, get stuck, ice snow build up blocking access). Low moral. No communication from upper management to lower drivers.
only one positive: the truck mechanics maintenance personnel do an excellent job
