Of all of the places I worked in my life, it was here. I got along with all of the caregivers, all of the seniors, and all of the office staff. I felt I went above and beyond for this company. 

I felt I was micromanaged. But I loved the job so much that it was worth it. I did have a couple of mistakes that were very much held against me. Nothing that was TERRIBLE, however I was made to feel that it was. I wasn't overly bothered, I loved the job. I was going through a very difficult time in my life during my employment. And while this isn't an excuse, I tried my best.

I ended up leaving for another job. I wanted to expand my experience and knowledge. It was the worst mistake I have ever made. And it was a week Into my new job that I knew I never should have left. And I was told when I left, if things didn't work out, to reach out and they (if possible) would have me back. I left on great terms. They even took me out for a goodbye lunch. But when I wanted to come back, I was told no. I was heartbroken. I still am heartbroken. 

I digress. I love this company and I still refer people to them. Whether it be seniors, or friends looking for work. Kindred is a wonderful company. I had never felt like part of a work family as I did at kindred.

I worked with kindred and the cons just simply outweigh the pros, which is heart breaking because it is such an essential service and the companies are the ones making it so difficult for employees to want to stay. Driving between clients, no gas mileage, no car allowance, no real training. I feel it is a disservice to the clients that they will hire quite literally anyone. The clients are amazing, the job is amazing, but this company makes it impossible to stay, there are things that need to be paid for and unless you pick up full time regular clients (which is hard to do because the people who have been there longer usually have them) rarely time off, they call you every day to ask if you can cover a 2 hr shift that is 30 mins away from your current client. A joke if they seriously expect people to want to work for so little compensation.

I worked 5 days a week caring for an elderly lady.  I learned that I really love working with people.  I was very organized.  I didnt work with co-workers as I worked on my own.  The hardest part of the job was dealing with toileting issues, however that wasn't that bad at all.  The most enjoyable part of the job was working with my client.  She was amazing and a joy to be around.  A typical day at work was coming in, getting my client bathed and ready for the day.  We would hang out and talk and watch movies and enjoy each others company.  I would clean her house every day and take her to church on Sundays, which she loved.

I’ve been with this company for 3 months. I’ve only been getting 20 hours a week even though when I was hired they said they were desperate and needed full time people.
I’m constantly emailing/ calling the girls in the office. (Who take so much time off themselves that you always get an auto response and have to wait days for them to get back to you!)
I have told them I will work ANY time as I need FULL time! They ONLY call me on my weekends off and harass me when they do (10+ calls in a half hour).
Overall, it’s a bad company. Raises aren’t honoured and even the clients I have had are fed up with Kindred.
Happy to be out of that place!!

Easy enough to get along with and they are understanding. They do pay lower than most companies, they don't pay any millage, and they don't offer any benefits. Can't guarantee good hours and lack of communication from management. I feel like more people would work for them if they offered more for employees.
The clients are respectful towards staff, if any issues arise you do have the option to switch, which is great.

hardest part of the job is knowing the individuals you are providing care for are nearing the end of their life and seeing their health deteriorate.
the most enjoyable part is interacting with the clients and their families and providing help and support to the clients.

I traveled to different client throughout the day. I could be at 4 different places in a run of a day. The things I didn’t like was going to so many places in one day. The cost of gas was a lot in a week. I enjoyed working at the Clients I had. I love the job. I just can’t do that job anymore for health reasons. Management was good for the most part but they have no communication skills to talk to employees. The hardest part of the job was trying to communicate with the manager and also having to leave the job I love doing but I’ve done this job for approximately 10 years off and on.

A typical day may start with one client all day or up to 3 clients in a day. Every case is different. The duties may include light housekeeping, cooking, person care, taking them out shopping. The hardest part is losing client by death or being placed in a nursing home. The job can be very physical or we are only there to allow family some time away for home. The best part for me is getting to know the clients and all their stories.

This company tells you that they have lots of clients.  But I worked here a month and they only gave me four shifts.  They offered a course I couldn't get signed into.  When asked for help I was spoke down to, got locked out of the course and told I didn't do things right.  
I proceeded to get approved to go elsewhere for learning. The company won't give tuition back.  I never even got logged into this program.  Don't work here. They are Catty at the main office when you ask for help. 

I love working for Kindred. I finally feel in my life that I have obtained a job that actually makes a difference in people's lives. I love the people I work with, when I do get to see them which isn't often. management is wonderful! Very kind and understanding. You can tell they really care about the clients and their staff. I am so happy to have come in contact with them and kindred! I love my clients and am so thankful.
