Kindret Landscaping

Kindret tends to underpay their employees. All of them. And no real benefits. Their supplied equipment is poor quality. And wears out fast. Or doesn’t fit. So expect to bring your own safety gear. They’re a revolving door of employees. Their work hours are inconsistent year round. (Summer you’re usually working overtime based on whatever supervisor you are with that day.) Which effects your work/home life balance. You’re on call during the winter which isn’t a problem as most snow clearing companies are. However, they tend to give you very late notice (sometimes 2 hours notice) of when you’re working, which.. if you’re asleep (a lot of snow clearing is done at random hours anywhere from 2am-11am so there is really no schedule to get use to) you miss the notification and then miss work. Management for being such a small group have no communication with each other and often are butting heads, take it out on supervisors, which effect the rest of us workers. Some managers tend to turn their noses at you when you wish to talk to them. Others don’t actually listen to what you have to say and then there is this bad game of telephone going around. Proper training of employees on heavy equipment is minimal to non existent. And it sometimes causes some hectic and frankly, dangerous work situations. Gossip is through the roof with employees which tends to create an uncomfortable work environment.

My experience at Kindret Landscape Group has been awesome. The staff are friendly and everybody gets along. We get lots of hours and the wages are competitive. Management are supportive and receptive to feedback. I read a complaint on here about the equipment and I think that's BS. No one has all new, perfect equipment but we've had numerous upgrades lately and have some brand new equipment we work with. Equipment isn't cheap and needs staff to take care of it. And yeah some days are hard work but that's part of the job and they're definitely not all hard days. We have lots of easy days mixed in there too. 
There's lots of room for advancement if you are responsible. They consistently grow each year and our clients consistently give us more work so we must be doing something right in such a competitive market. 
Summer season is busy and we gets lots of hours which is the best way to make money! Winter is sporadic just like every other snow removal company but management always do their best to keep us busy.
Kindret has a lot of different pieces of equipment and work a variety of projects so you can learn a lot of different skills sets. 


I’d rate the company around 4 stars. Maybe a 3.9. 
It’s a decent place to work, hours are good if you like working long days. They have some minor things they need to work on as a company but they all do. 
Management on the maintenance side of the company definitely needs work if they want things to run smoother. Along with getting better more efficient equipment. The Landscaping side of the company is ran decently but the company would benefit from better supervisors on the field. And newer machines. The machines are so outdated and there is no heat.. how can they ask us to work nightshift -40 weather with a machine that has no heat. Their benefits are a joke. 
 Other then that it’s been fun working for landscaping. 
Their concrete side seems like a decent group of guys to work with, haven’t really heard too much about the concrete division to judge. 


Start of the day hoping it will go well until you find out equipment is not repaired. Fuel trucks always empty. Everyone running around like a chicken with their heads cut off. So typical day at work makes you wanna leave right away. During winter time 🤯 just don't wanna go.

I believe that all my knowledge and skills for the type of work they do just went down the drain

Management can't really say anything more like the ownership and lead mechanic was a joke.

Also can't forget you had to do 12 different jobs in one day while everyone sat around and puff puff pass. 

Kindret is a good work environment albeit with high expectations of supervisors and managers. If you are someone who thrives on opportunity and a busy workload it is a great place to be, but can also become overwhelming. The company has no aversion to taking on complex tasks so you get to be involved a lot of neat and diverse projects. Pay is good and hours are consistent compared to other mainly seasonal firms. 

The issues at Kindret are largely related to a growing company. It leads to plenty of opportunity for advancement and learning, but also will create gaps in infrastructure at times. 

Every day brings something new.  There's never a dull day at Kindret.  Managing projects and keeping clients up to speed along with designs and managing estimates are part my day to day.  I'm learning something new everyday.  I truly enjoy working with my colleagues in the design team.  It definitely makes coming to work everyday a lot easier.  The hardest part about the job is keeping up with the workload.  There's a tremendous amount to coordinate during the day and keeping on top of everything is quite a challenge.  The most enjoyable part is what I said before, working with the design team.

I really enjoy working at Kindret Landscape Group because it is a professional company that values their employees expertise and is committed to being the premier Canadian company in our region. I value the opportunities that I have to contribute to helping to make our company successful in the projects that we work on. I also like the team atmosphere and the workplace culture of striving to be the best in our industry.  The most enjoyable parts of my job is when our clients are happy with our designs and also the built projects. 

Working here has advanced my career in positive ways. My portfolio is solid. Projects are impressive and ongoing. They have invested significant time on organization and developing their employees. Management is fair and focused on training staff to be better time managers. They are not single minded in their approach to moving upward. The most enjoyable part of the job is building the creative large scale projects they seem to consistently find.

There is an infrastructure in place at Kindret Landscaping which supports its employees, from people in the field to top level management. Kindret Landscaping is an extremely fast growing company with tons of potential for advancement. This is an excellent company to put down roots and grow a career. 

If you are looking for a place to challenge you on the landscaping side of construction, Kindret could be the place for you.  Do they have ups and downs as a company of course they do, but there are way more ups then downs.  People are fun to work with and management is very accommodating to your needs.  Lots of room for advancement if your willing to put in the work.
