Andrew demonstrates a clear lack of understanding of the social service sector and the realities of frontline work. His approach comes across as dismissive and out of touch, particularly when it comes to the value of staff who are directly supporting the community.

During my experience, I was told that he “only deals with big fish,” and that as a coordinator I likely wouldn’t be comfortable engaging with upper management. That kind of mindset speaks volumes. It undermines the skills and experience of people who are actively building and running programs, and reflects a leadership style that is disconnected from the actual work being done.

Compensation is also not aligned with the level of impact and responsibility expected from staff, which further shows a lack of understanding of the field.

Overall, I would not recommend this organization to others. Leadership appears inexperienced in the sector and does not demonstrate the level of awareness or respect needed to effectively support staff or the community.

Kinnect will send front line workers to various agencies in the healthcare and education sector. You will meet a lot of great people both clients and staff and you will be able to be very flexible with your schedule. Pay is weekly which is a bonus. Management is kind and empathetic to employees needs or concerns. You may get stationed at a location you do not particularly like but my advice would be to make the most out of every shift. You may not like it but try to make a difference where you can and be remembered in a positive light by agency staff members. If you work hard enough and make the right impressions you will be successful.

I did not find much stress working there.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's a diverse environment and a comfortable place to meet and work with other colleagues. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Mostly productive and busy. It was usually quiet overnight but during the day was pretty busy.

Do not work here. Management is rude and lacks respect for their employees and has no idea what they are doing. This is a shift work on call position and you are left doing the dirty work.  There is no prior training, you're just thrown into it and have no idea what you will be doing, there's a lot of miscommunications about the shifts and times. You're paid poverty wages. I wouldn't even recommend this place if you're just starting out.

My experience with this company was not positive. I felt that ownership did not provide the level of support, communication, or understanding needed to be effective in the social services field. In my opinion, the work environment lacked the professionalism and expertise. I would encourage applicants to carefully consider their options, as there are other third-party staffing agencies that may offer a more professional experience.

if you are a fresh grad and need experience this is a good place to go. However be ready for learning the realities of the field. Try not to take it personal when interacting with very poor and unprofessional non inclusive  management and staff in the community. Best of luck to you my friend! The management and owner do not know a thing about respecting their employees and working with vulnerable clients.  They treat employees very poorly and do not like conflict, if you complain you will be fired.. Work for other companies that appreciate and respect employees! 

This is a for profit agency that sends you to different shelters to provide support for staff. You will be cleaning and doing kitchen duties at shelters.

Horrible company. Stay away at all costs. The management is rude and inflexible. It's a minimum wage job, like labour works. They send you to clean shelters. When you can't take a shift, the management become your enemy. Just run from this company as far as you can.

This place was good to work for, for the first few weeks. WAY underpaid for the things we do, no structure or training!!! you're just thrown into the field or the job without any explanation as what to do. No communication. stay away.
