Kirmac Collision

Ive worked at Kirmac for over a year and don’t have much great things to say. I came to Kirmac with experience in the automotive industry and was promised all these great opportunities to advance, but still have yet to see any of those opportunities. Kirmac is a company that only cares for your results and doesn’t care for how much time/hardwork you put in. 

Micromanagement is a HUGE problem with this company. Most shops do NOT have a parts advisor, receptionist, book keeper and many other roles you need to run a store efficiently. As an entry level office staff you are expected to fill all these rolls and do them all while taking in walk-ins or picking up the phone. I’ve received a write-up for not answering a phone call on a Saturday because i was outside checking in a customer. If you are scheduled to work Saturdays; good luck to you. Saturdays you work completely alone, no techs and no other office staff. It might seem appealing, but the amount of walk-ins you receive will turn you away. Overall Kirmac is an old family business that’s growing rapidly and does not have the time to care for their employees. Kirmac was a fun place to work at originally, but now I’m completely burnt out, have lost trust in these “tons of opportunities” and honestly have been turned off by the industry. The only reason  I could think of why I would recommend working at Kirmac is for the fact you will meet few individuals who truly are passionate about the job and want to see the company grow. 

P.S 
Kirmac frowns upon vacations that are longer than a week (sometimes a couple days) and sometimes they require you to resign in order for you to go. They also disapprove of taking a couple days off even without pay because the fact the office is so understaffed.

I started to work at this company last year. It has been almost one and half year working for Kirmac. I chose this company at the very beginning other than other body shops is because they contribute to the society. I am very proud of being a member of contribution to the children's hospital. When a company knows how to help the society, you will never go wrong with your choice. Then I started to work here as a customer service representative and now I am an estimator. Not only my work ethic, but also Kirmac have given me opportunities to explore my potentials with this industry. The only drawback is that you will be expecting unstable working shifts due to various situations you have to come across. Overall, people come and go, I believe no companies in this world can satisfy every individual. However, I really do appreciate that Kirmac has encouraged me, pushed me and taught me so much knowledge when I was just a black piece of paper of automotive industry.

I first heard about Kirmac from their Vancouver Community Collage scholarships and BC children hospital ads.  I decided to apply because I understood Kirmac to be a growing company which will yield a long term career.

Kirmac is a fast pace environment which can be challenging and at times overwhelming.  However, once I realized that amount of experienced people I had working with me, I quickly understood I just needed to ask questions and follow up on my tasks.  I had to understand that I drive my success and I should not waste time blaming others.

I owe the majority of my success in the automotive industry to Kirmac. They gave me the opportunity to develop and excel more quickly than I could have imagined.  And with upper management always trying to stay innovative to better the position of the company as a whole, I am very excited for the future success I will share with the team.

I joined Kirmac about 6 years ago.  During the past six years I had the opportunity to manage Vancouver and be a part of a team of what it is today.  Growth over the past 6 years has doubled.  Joining Kirmac at the time with 9 stores and now to 18,  I had the rare chance to watch and be apart of how an organization grows.  My closest friends are Kirmac collegues.  Hard work and great work ethic are not defined in months. Sometimes it takes years.  The great ones rise to the occasion and lead.  We are always constantly learning and improving.  Highlights for me was winning the Mac & Mildred award for Manager in 2015.  This award included a 5k vacation + 1 week paid to anywhere we wanted.  More highlights included Nascar Trips to Phoenix, North Carolina and this year Texas.  Oh and I forgot to mention we got to drive race cars at Area 27 :) .

When I was hired by Kirmac Collision I felt very welcome and part of a team even before I stepped foot in the shop. Everyone with the company has been very supportive with me in my new position. I enjoy the challenges and productive pace. I have worked with several different body shops over the past 25 years and this is the warmest welcome and positive hiring experience I have ever had. I continually get support, training and positive comments. I know I have found a company that has great values and gives back and not just all talk. Lots of opportunity for advancement. I am proud to work with Kirmac as this is a company I believe in.

Not a place for University educated people or people with the desire to grow. I have been promised promotions twice and moved to another location when my job performance was not the issue. 

Management consists of people with no formal University education for the most part and the decisions they make reflect that. You will not be trained properly but you will be hung out to dry when you are not able to complete your duties. 

Good place to work if you want an easy job with no real advancement but not if you are education and ambitious. 

I am leaving the company as soon as something better pans out.

Staffs and management are amazing. Management team always want to help you succeed, willing to compromise, want to hear your opinions and needs and generally effective and efficient. 

I joined the company in January 2015 as CSR. Kirmac gave me the opportunity to develop and excel more quickly than I could have imagined. I have moved from the CSR, estimator, and now Manager. All within 3 years. Working here i have learned and gained many skills such as communication, collision repair knowledge, project management, and leadership.

If you like challenge and be able to work under the pressure, Kirmac is the place for you to build your career.

Didn't have a good experience, the pay was low, the work life balance was horrible, youre a customer service rep, estimator, parts advisor, 3 roles with low pay, while at dealerships, each of those roles pay more, and they like to move you to different locations in other cities disregarding traffic difficulties you have to experience, high turn over, alot of clique mentality, and favorism, only ever came across 1 good manager and 2 great colleagues there, the rest of the people had poor qualities, horrible attitudes, it was honestly one of if not the worst place I worked at, if you're not a tech trying to get a ticket, wouldn't recommend 

A typical day at Kirmac is fast-paced but well-structured, with clear goals and great teamwork. I’ve learned a lot about customer service, operations, and leadership through hands-on experience and training. Management is approachable and genuinely wants you to succeed. The culture is supportive, with a strong focus on growth and community. The hardest part of the job can be balancing multiple priorities, but it’s rewarding when you see the results of your effort. The most enjoyable part is the sense of accomplishment and the people you work with — everyone takes pride in what they do.
