Kleins Food Mart

the days are long and there is a ton of duties for employees to do every single day. I learned how to communicate, build relations, and interact with customers. The is not a workplace culture because the owners are not interested in hiring non-Caucasians. The hardest part of the job is doing everything by yourself without any other coworkers to help you on the busiest days. The enjoyable part was making connections with customers and being able to get to know everyone coming into the store.

Working there for a year my father died, I missed the funeral and was made to work 8 graveyards in a row. Manager does not "allow" sick calls when severely ill was told to come in anyway. Different treatment for different employees, some racism made it hard ro respect myself mich less others there. I had stress leave upon trying ro come back set shifts up so I would work with the person who cause all the stress. 

They'll hire anyone. The turn over rate is extremely high. Whe work load does not get distributed evenly and favoritism is definitely an issue their. It is a family run and working business, grandfather, daughters and the  grand kids. The way management is run is extremely unprofessional.  Associates are underminded and over worked. A "because I'm the boss" run enviroment. 

 Personly I would not recommend.

Management doesn't care about you. Expectations of staff are weird, as if the owners have never worked the front. No room for advancement, refusal to allow time off even if requested months in advance. Wouldn't recommend anyone to work here outside of a transitional phase..

Watched an employee get fired for asking for time off to manage illness. 

There is a reason they are ALWAYS hiring.

Klein's Food Mart is an awesome place to work. I enjoyed the hands on with the customers and my employers were always there for you. 

As the manager and cashier, I was able to accept deliveries, go through stock, assist with cash and assist each employee as well.

bank deposits daily paper work shipping and receiving ,long hours due to staff shortage. What I loved about my job was customers and staff. Management was good and easly to approach and talk too.

The owners appreciate your loyalty towards their company. They have a fair salary, and they treat you with respect. I had a blast working at Klein's, and it taught me a good work ethic.

No chance to advance or receive a pay increase. Had to work alone on night shift in a very rough area. I found night shift boring.  I prefer more one on one interaction with clients

Counting inventory, i learned how to open the store and close the store. 
the most enjoyable part of the job was the friendly environment.
knowing everyone in the neighborhood

I did enjoy working at Kliens for the people and the funny conversations with customers. I didn't enjoy working the overnight shifts because it's not the safest.
