A typical day.  Start at 8:30am greet all other employees in the staff room as we prepare for our day.  Meet at front lobby for a general meeting discussing store requirements and procedures for the day.  Management always followed up with positive encouragement for everyone each day.  I learned how to work together in a large team and how to answer manage and direct multiple telephone calls while supervising the needs of multiple departments and cashiers.  I think the hardest part of the job was when the store closed. The most enjoyable part was the stimulation of the fast pace.  Working with all departments was informative and challenging very satisfying being part of great working team.  Dealing with customers and clients is a satisfying feeling to resolve their inquiries in professional and adequately way is gratifying to be positive and helpful.

I started out by stocking the merchandise. Later I was a cashier which I enjoyed alot. Talking with different people was always a pleasant experience. The managers and co-workers were always pleasant. Some of my ex co-workers I remained in contact with and are very good friends. The store was a clean and updated building. My experience working with K-Mart was a learning experience because they gave me my first work experience. I am very grateful for the opportunity that they gave me.

Working at and helping set up Kmart Te Rapa was an amazing experience. I learnt how to do end of day banking, refunds, returns, sales, up selling. My co workers were amazing, they made it fun to go to work. Management was OK, there were a few mistakes made on the roster side of things. The hardest part of working at Kmart in Te Rapa was the travel. At that time I was living in Cambridge and the travel in peak hour traffic was horrible. The thing I most Enjoyed about my job at Kmart was seeing the customer walk out with a smile on their faces and knowing that you made their day that much better.

merchandising was the best part of the job but that was shifted to head office so that at store level had very little to do as far as ordering products and merchandise
the hardest part was the hours required to be put in the job...it never seemed to be enough and upper management never seemed to be quite satisfied

I really enjoyed my job at Kmart. The employees and management treated everybody fairly and treated everyone with respect. Was a great place to work I learned alot and had the experience of trying different jobs and moved up with the company. The hardest part of the job was leaving to relocate. The most enjoyable part of my job was learning new jobs when they came available.I haven't a bad thing at all to say about Kmart. Everybody was friendly and we all worked together. It was the best job I ever had.

stocking shelves and serving customers learned how to work as a team and have fun doing it management was very much a part of it all and a lot of fun to work for co-workers were a lot like family and very helpful when needed help hardest part of the job was the hours some time I had very few hours and other times had too many but the most enjoyable part of the job was knowing that at the end of the day I had put in a hard days work and the satisfaction knowing I did my best to finish the job 100% .

I would work at the front registers or the mall registers. I'd help customers find items they were looking for and send them to the registers to pay for the items.  I would work in the automotive department, writing up work orders on cars for the repairs needed.  I would call he customer with an estimate on what it would cost for the repairs on the vehicles.

I would never have left kmart if it hadn't closed its stores in canada.  It had everything in the store and a restaurant.  The staff was big but they where a great group from young to old.  Our lunchroom had a television and couches for relaxing time after you ate.  Kmart's retirement plan was excellent and for the people who got out before they completely closed.  The company matched dollar for dollar of what you got taken off your pay.

Worked anytime from 930 AM - 930PM . My Personnel manager was very obliging to me when I needed to change my work hours on certain days . I liked working very much with my co-workers and became close friends with most of them .
