I worked here for a few months as an Aqpic (Alternate qualified person in charge).
Overall it is an okay company. 
After my probation period was up I was asked if I wanted the job, and I made it clear that I didn't and there were a few reasons for that. 
The job description will make you think it is a very good job but the truth its only okay. It will require a lot of labour from you (80-90% for the AQPIC #2). This job is not career oriented, people who did it quit for jobs that paid less, went back to school or got laid off (and me, I decided to not continue on!). This job is warehouse work 100%. 

The culture of the company is shifted towards saving money, it even broke a contract with most  employees a few years back in Burnaby.
The pay is good to start around 40k (after probation, yes they pay significantly less during the probation), but I sensed (don't know for sure) that it hardly moves upwards, the benefits are lacking and the job is not considered a professional job by K&F, so there is no negotiating much, you're a labourer to them really, they will let a lot of things slide from you as they need people willing to do this job. What I figured out is that if you don't quit within 2-3 years you will actually like it and potentially get stuck there as this job is mostly worry free, with the exception of customer complaints, lost stock, etc.... warehouse worries. 

The hours are pretty good - you get set hours starting after the probation usually afternoon or night shift. So you'll have a life for sure.
They will expect overtime if the production shift is late (pick/packing), which happens rather often during my time there 90% of the shifts with an extra 45 minutes average.  

Overall I want to warn you, this is a labour job not what you may think from the job description/recruiter/interview. Take this job if you absolutely need a stable job because that it is otherwise just get a job at save-on-foods the experience you will gain there is about equal as K&F, however you may move faster to manager at save on as these guys need you for the degree to do the AQPIC job. 

Again, if you can afford to wait for a job where your skills will improve and your value will appreciate as you get older take that job. If you don't mind the labour, in time you'll get the Qpic job which is only around 30% labour but you will still not learn much useful.... not even decent excel, word, etc but you will learn customer service and warehouse work, picking/packing/receiving etc. 

The pros for the company: hours, free cupcakes once a month, the occasional free expired chocolate, some job stability once you're the #1Aqpic. 

If you're reading this because of the AQPIC job, I hope this helps you make a decision about taking this job.

Daily responsibilities:
•	Supporting in the transition during distribution closure.
•	Problem solving and trouble shooting in all areas of inventory.
•	Managing inventory movements between DC’s.
•	Plan and execute expiry sweeps as required.
•	Maintaining all records relative to the Distribution Center’s inventory and ensuring proper inventory levels.
•	Responsible for ensuring product is stored and arranged in locations that optimize total operation efficiencies.
•	Assign and supervise daily work including order and transfer picking, expiry sweeps and material placement.
•	Organize and co-ordinate shipments between internal DC’s.
•	Manually creating pick tickets for internal orders, transfers and material movement between DC’s.
•	Create spreadsheet reports, and provide accurate product information to Inventory team and other Departments to optimize daily activities.
•	Available to work overtime when necessary
•	Help to organize, prepare pre-counts and participate in physical inventory.
•	Manage and supervise team of 5.
•	Understand and follow DC policies, procedures and guidelines
•	Work in safe and productive manner
•	Maintain a clean and safe work environment
•	Work in different work areas depends on a volume and needs of the business.

Stay away from this company if you have a dream of growth. I am not sure if upper management knows what going on but the culture inside is "It doesn't matter what you know, what matter is who you know." The warehouse is full of incompetent people (Management). They don't care about their people. They only see us as a number/slave that they could replace anytime they want. As long as they get what they want, you won't matter to them anymore. It is not fun working here, there's no security and stability. There are people who have been working there for 10years and have not been offered yet a full-time status. If you're to ask me why I'm still there? Well, I want to try and change that culture until I can. I got nothing bad to say about the company, but just to the people who manage it. I believe that this company could still be fixed. Eliminate those leeches inside and replace them with more fit and competent talents/leaders. Also, the office people don't seem to be comfortable around warehouse people. It seems like they look down on us. FYI, these warehouse people are the backbone of the company and some of them have degrees and licenses as well. You're just lucky coz you got a connection that's why you landed a job in the office.

This company runs off the exploitation of part time workers without having to hire full time and provide benefits. This company will find any way to exploit their non full time workers. The manual labor got more and more intense in a span of 5 years with part timers being forced to do tasks requiring forklifts. Many of the workers including full timers complained about having and/or developing back and other muscular problems due to the amount of labour/hand bombing involved.
Many individuals in management make the job and environment a depressing place to be.

Lost all credibility,  they have joined all the other egocentric companies who think hiring and retaining employees is like a cheap dating app where you can delete people instantaneously. Skilled, educated people are seen as numbers and not people to the extremely scared, zero confident management.  Be prepared to be shoved around and have your time wasted, then discarded like a used cup of coffee. They are not serious about hiring and retention,  amateur, manipulative approach,  stay away.

I worked on contract with the company for 4 months before i had to leave the country for personal work. The working environment i saw was totally friendly, supportive and there was no pressure from superiors. I still remember one such instance when my superior helped me so patiently even after i was given clear instructions to perform the task. Through her working experience, she had made the assumption that i was having a bad that and she helped me out of it.

** This company is very driven in the business world and is not at all interested in its employees having a well balanced "work and family" relationship. Upper management rules with an iron fist and has no room for those whom make errors, usually resulting in having labels placed upon its employees and in most cases start building a case on termination of such employee. in one word....Heartless!

was interviewed by the customer service manager. she seems very unorganized. 
was asked 3 inappropriate questions before job was offered.
1. are you bilingual?
2. do you have a girlfriend?
3. can you start on a specified date?

first impressions was that the work environment was very laid back. no dress code.
trainer made a lot of very derogatory remarks towards women.
their was a lot of "I don't know" answers.
lasted a week in training before resigning.

Kohl & Frisch takes care of its own.  The organization takes great pride in providing opportunities to its loyal staff, and providing the best possible service to its customers.

It takes a certain kind of employee to thrive there (intelligent, confident, honest and customer focused).  But for those who add value to the business, there is plenty of room to shine.

I enjoyed the company of the staff members there, I got a very good and strong experience of picking, packing, auditing and stocking in those 13 years I worked there for. The hardest part of working there was they would change my shift every year two times and it would mess up the schedule of dropping off my kids to school.
