Kupfert and Kim

On interview day, the store manager never showed up to conduct an interview with me, so a Kitchen Manager who was unprepared conducted the interview. It was a quick and easy interview with lack of situational questions. I was offered the position right when I arrived home. On the first day of work, I was trained by another Cashier/Barista, until she had to leave, so I didn't get much support. The rest of the week was for me to mirror other employees to get a gist of daily routines. Service there was really slow and often times staff members would decide to leave and close the store early, leaving someone like me to lose some of my promised full-time hours. For full-time, I wasn't getting the number of hours that I wished and predicted it would be worst when the winter comes when the store will be even quieter. Anyways, as the week went by, two new Cashier/Barista came in for training even though after hiring me, the place seemed to be already way overstaffed. Often times, we had to share duties and finish everything really quickly and all of us would stand for hours not really having much to do. After about 7 days working there, I received a sudden email by a manager in the morning giving me my immediate 'Letter of Termination' without reason. When I did ask for a reason, they replied back several hours later stating that I had a low peer performance evaluation, as well as a generally bad attitude and apparently 2 guests complained about me on accounts of rudeness. None of these claims represented me as a worker there, nothing about this was brought to my attention, no feedbacks were given by anyone during my shifts, and in the end, I never had the chance to explain myself. There was never an opportunity for self-improvement. That to me is poor training and management. My lifeline there was based on who was fond of me and who wasn't. I expected more compassion from a plant-based company hoping to help individuals make healthy food changes. Nothing is what meets the eye. I would never recommend anyone I know to come to work here if they want to be a productive employee or anyone looking to maintain job security. I have yet to receive my first and only paycheck there, so I hope that will not be an arduous task to achieve. I am very glad I have intuitively acted on a back-up plan in case something like this happens to waste my time. If anything, my termination here has led me to find the workplace of my dreams. Although, I do feel a lot of injustice having been treat in this way.

high speed and quick tempo job but the management and staff made the atmosphere fun and great to work in. management where very easy to talk to and where very supportive as long as you where willing to work hard. great bonding between staff and management on lunches and after work hours.  3 hours of non stop customers was strenuous but made the day go by quickly. never a moment of killing time which is always a plus as you are always on your feet. i learned how important staff and customer interaction can help boost a businesses name and profits as teh majority of customers where regulars.

such a great, positive and uplifting environment. management is caring. customers are very kind too. overall very good atmosphere

busy hours can be overwhelming, but it is important to remain calm and keep composure

interacting w lots of different interesting people, learning about human interaction and communication

I have been with the company for over 2 years. I learn a lot about vegan, gluten free and nutrition.
It is a great place to work and study because they are ok with part-time and perfect place to grow as there are many opportunities. They are opening many locations and always promote the employees to management and supervising positions with good salaries.

Kupfert and Kim is a fast growing vegan restaurant that has a different culture in terms of a regular Kitchen.There is lots of regular customers that makes the job fun and interesting .The great thing about working here was it does not open on weekends so its a pretty fast but busy week .

Worked here for over 2 years with very little support or encouragement. Management makes empty promises and expects way too much for almost minimum wage. No growth potential, no HR department, no benefits, severe conflict of interest within management, burnt out staff.
Don't waste your time.

During my time there, I had fun working with my other team members. They were truly the highlight of my working experience in Kupfert and Kim. The hardest part of the job is sometimes it can be stressful if you work in the kitchen have to rush during busy hours. 

Productive and fun place to work. It is a Vegan restaurant with fresh, healthy food and fun people. I learned a lot about vegan food and different recipes. This is a great place to work.

Worked at Toronto Location, Hands down one of the best place I worked. Cool Staff and manager. Would recommend!. Easy to work. Very flexible. Healthy foods.
