This job started out fine, but after a a month they turned from the whole “family” vibe to treating you like just another number. They cut your hours to nothing and you’ll be working very minimally that you could have a second job and they wouldn’t notice. The customer service lead is awful and will treat you terribly when you are a person of another background, and will humiliate you in front of other staff. The store manager spends more time criticizing your work rather than training you to become better. They pay you minimum wage and no commission, yet they record your employee number after each sale completed, so they can keep watch on how much you’re raking in for them, then if it’s a slow day they can cut hours and not feel bad. Don’t work here unless you plan to work a second job or don’t mind being treated badly…

Workload was generally manageable, and realistic. Coworkers were supportive and helped create a safe work environment. Management was mediocre, particularly making certain floor layouts which did not benefit sales, all while ignoring suggestions from sales associates. Management really pressures and pushes employees to really push for sales onto every customer that visits the store, despite paying minimum wage, and no commission, which does nothing to encourage employees to put in the extra effort.



I’ve been a proud member of the L.L.Bean team since the store opened and truly enjoy our positive work environment. Our team has great morale, and I love providing friendly, personalized service to our wonderful customers every day.  

It’s rewarding to work with such dedicated colleagues, and I always strive to contribute to our store’s success through teamwork and excellent customer care. L.L.Bean feels like family, and I’m grateful to be part of this experience.

It is a pretty straight forward retail environment. Nothing exceptional or unexpected.

The job was extremely boring because people were put at one area for the entire shift, and the manager was very demeaning and rude. The most stressful part was how disorganized everything was, when I first started I didn’t even know my schedule but was expected to work overtime everyday, and if you didn’t accept 12 hour shifts you would be cut to 2 shifts a week.

Very slow working environment. Struggled throughout shifts to find things to do. Sales goals were never met; newer management was very poor. 
Seemed to never work as a team, but more so the team working against each other. Poor communication from management and sales leads. 



This role provided a solid and structured work environment with clear expectations and responsibilities. The job required strong organization, time management, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others. Daily tasks were consistent, and the workload was manageable while still offering opportunities to develop practical skills.

Most of the people working in excutive positions for this company only got said role thru blatant nepotisim. Little to no direction, poor planning, complicated return/cash register systems, & terrible company culture fester. I would highly recommend staying far away. 

The job was what was expected of typical retail work, with unprofessional management. The coworkers made the job enjoyable, and customers are usually pleasant but expect lots of product knowledge that is rarely provided from training.
