LMS Reinforcing Steel Group

LMS does not require it's employees to pass any drug tests nor background checks, which results in a high number of drug addicts and ex-convicts on the job site, which, again, results in a high number of discipline issues, such as fights and accidents.
Even though each crew has its own stable core of experienced workers, most laborers quit within two months of work due to different reasons. 
Skipping days with no valid reason or explanation does not cause any serious outcome for experienced workers, therefore having shortage of manpower and tossing people from one site to the other is very common.
If an employee has a vehicle, he occasionally will be forced to deliver other laborers between sites with no reimbursement on gas.
On the positive side, a company does not have any shortage of work all year round. There is a good possibility for overtime for interested individuals. The company also provides full apprenticeship support and health benefits.
As to the salary, LMS pays below average in comparison with the other rebar companies. Even through every new employee gets a chart of how much he will earn after a certain amount of hours, the company will not  follow it's own chart, trying to minimize salary raise or delay it for as long as possible. Also there is absolutely no reimbursement on tools or equipment.

a typical day at work starts at 7 am whatever the weather is, we go trough a little meetings concerning permanent or temporary hazards. we discuss about the daily task and their deadlines after that, we receive our assignation on whichever construction site we are working on. the co-workers are generally kind and patient with beginners but expect them to learn quickly so they could work by themselves to help achieve fast paced results. by the way, i am a multi tasked experienced guy and a fast learner as well. hardest part of the job is when u hear from your foreman that the site has to be shutted down because of bad weather which is not really good for someone that wants to cumulate a maximum of hours. the most enjoyable part of the job is when you realized at the end that all this work is for interior structures as roofs, ceilings,walls, elevators cages or exteriors structures as towers, bridges. andof course the greetings of your co-workers and supervisor or foreman

I worked there for a few years, it took me over a year to get a raise and that was after asking multiple times, only to get a dollar raise. If your new to landscaping, they don't train you properly and get really mad at you when you do something wrong. 

I called in sick once and they threatened to fire me.

Once you start working there, they treat you very nicely to welcome you to the team, but once you get familiar, they take advantage of you.

The management is very unprofessional and almost no opportunity for any sort of growth. 

The pay is the worst, literally any other landscaping company is worth it.

This was a company that had two owners one which was the driving force of the company and the other one that was the people person and of course he was the more liked one. :-)   

Loved my direct boss, the CFO of the company, very easy going and under his guidance I learnt a lot about accounting.  It was a great place to work.

As the years went on my job positions grew, went from A/P & Payroll to handing over the A/P and purely overseeing the payroll to finally managing the payroll with two payroll assistants and eventually, as more and more folk were taken on, creating and running HR.  Which was at that time very much required when the company started growing to the point of 'office politics'.

LMS Group has some of the worst management I have ever seen. They created a hostile work environment and made their staff feel unappreciated. When asking for a raise they will tell you they don't make enough money so you don't get anything. Its extremely unprofessional. 

My personal outlook on the company was positive but once I got to see how they took advantage of their hard working and loyal employees, I was disgusted. After asking for a raise I was told I didn't deserve it when I put in extra hours and took on stress beyond comprehension. 

They only care about keeping their company afloat so they can sell their property for a higher value.

It was a very stressful work environment overall. Drinking in the office, especially on Fridays, seemed to be normalized, which made the workplace feel uncomfortable and unprofessional at times. There was also a lot of office politics that created unnecessary tension between employees.

On top of that, both the branch manager and fabrication manager often came across as sarcastic and unprofessional in the way they communicated with staff, which only added to the negative atmosphere. Instead of feeling supported, the environment often felt discouraging and difficult to work in.

I loved working at LMS group. Everyday was a new and exciting challenge, and you are apart of a crew so there is always someone there to offer help/guidance if needed. It was a great way to earn money while also getting a great exercise, and learning new things.

It is a great place to work if you love challenging yourself as it is hard labor, but the pay is worth it and the employees/management are amazing! Everyone was kind and helpful, which makes the days go by fast. Working here gives you a sense of belonging. I would recommend working here if you enjoy being outside and are looking for a fast paced job.

I worked there 8 months, it was my first job

I was never late, 
I always do what they asked,
I worked 15$/h
I even got injured an they say was my fault
I louvered my head and continue work and work the best, even when it snow or rain.
I say Good Morning every day, I do my best for the company.
I even supported and do all they offered, because i wanted be part of the family.
Then one day, i was fired because I feel it was not safe what they asked me to do, i was sad because i really loved the company and my job... 
Then I write my letter as someone that respected them, thank you for all. You teach me a lot about reality....

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people were good and they always had 40 hours a week I was in shape and doing well

The heat when out in the sun or occasionally two many captains giving orders 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fun and fast paced everyone seemed to get along and joke you could disagree then get right back into the Grove of things with a smile

Time Flys whe. You're having fun

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing good except its a job 



What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Go go go and direction is not clear and no training of new people .


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Rain or snow we don't stop . No real training of new people in the trade.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful at all times the hole crew was new but still wanted everything done on time with uneducated people to do the job.
