The work is great. Your coworkers are probably the nicest people I've ever worked for. The problem with lucid is with Upper management. They cut 20 hours at all stores on April 11th with out any notice. Upper management will implement a policy (ex. allowed to wear cannabis related clothing) and a month later will revoke that same policy without giving a reason.

With upper management their is no transparency with their decision making and staff. They will constantly ask about improving sales but will ignore your advise if it involves accountably on their end.

Lastly you will not get a raise. You will start out at 15$ an hour and will not be given a raise unless the person above you in seniority quits (manager/assistant manager) . One budtender was the top seller for 8 out of 9 months, completed most of the assistant managers tasks and would still not be given a raise from 15$ an hour.


The amount of knowledge I have gained since taking a position with Lucid Cannabis is immeasurable. I started as a budtender when we opened the doors a little over 2 years ago in July of 2019. I was given the best coach as a manager and he quickly built an amazing team of dedicated, hard working people with a passion for cannabis. I was willing to give my all to Lucid and I have been given amazing opportunities in return. This company is ever expanding and there is a lot of room for advancement. I quickly worked from budtender to key holder to assistant manager and I am so excited to see where else this career takes me.

A typical day at work-you will work pretty much alone, which is a great idea until the store gets robbed. Your manager will leave for hours on end multiple time a shift and you’ll be left doing everything.
The management has been the worst I’ve ever seen in my many years of work experience, and your chances of keeping a job there is slim to none. Your coworker are either the nicest or the most cut-throat, and the hardest part of the job has nothing to do about any of the work, it’s keeping a job after calling in sick. Only reason I stayed was for the freebies.

Never in my life have I seen so much drama in a work place.  People are always crying or yelling or calling in sic.  The management team is extremely aggressive and irrational.  Any and all employees that leave do it all for the same reason, the managers!  So much turn over in staff that could easily be fixed with proper leadership.  How can a weed store be so stressful, again the management is horrendous.

All coworkers were great to work with, management was very good to me.

Nothing, they made everything a breeze


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fun and adaptive and working as a team was one of the best parts

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
4-6 hours shifts were not bad and every shift was great

Management gets to be on their phones in the back while new employees have to cover the front by themselves.
My specific location was very disorganised.
Even durning Covid you're told not to stand behind the counter.
Nobody cared about Covid safety measures.
You have to come in early and stay late.
You wouldn't want this to be your first budtender job as they OFTEN leave you up at the front all alone even while you're new.


Upper management don’t care about there employees at all, make us money or else face the consequences!! Wages are horrible, and raises are far and few between.
This company wont last long in the industry, poorly run.

Nothing will destroy a great employee like watching your employer tolerate and reward the bad ones. 


I loved my co workers, manager and doing what I do. Customers are usually super friendly. Upper management is the only issue, and it’s a big issue. They need to work on their priorities by putting their staff in mind. They will not hear people out and will talk down to/about staff members.

blatant favouritism in stores. extremely unprofessional  and petty managers, who care more about profit that the physical or mental well-being of employees. Ignorant attitude towards the importance of employees not spreading sickness. 

I've never worked for a manager who legit would say to our faces that we suck and don't know how to do our jobs. I've never felt so defeated until I worked here.
