What is the best part of working at the company?
The people  were Super easy to get along with, made the days go by quick.  Also willing to train, great place to gain time in the seat, even with no experience at all, I saw numerous young guys start who had zero experience around equipment and not even a month later they were training one of the on excavator, personally I’d be the guy in a packer for his first piece of equipment but hey help is hard to find these days I guess lol

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The equipment breaks down lots and takes forever to get fixed.  My a/c went in the summer when it was close to 40degrees out and I spent the entire summer waiting for it to get fixed while I had bungee corded the door on my truck open and I ended up losing my voice for a couple months literally from the insane amounts of dust I was breathing in due to my door being open the whole time but I couldn’t handle the heat anymore i was getting dizzy at the end of my shifts it was like a greenhouse in the cab.   Lots of broken stuff and a mechanic that does more talking than fixing 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment and culture was great other than dealing with waiting for stuff to be fixed

A typical day at work included emails, phone calls, and spreadsheets. Most of the time I was emailing vendors tom ask for pricing or I was adjusting spreadsheets. The spreadsheets I i worked on were mainly budgets and schedules. The hardest part of this job was being given tasks with high responsibility, but this was also the most enjoyable part of the job because I learned so much more while completing theses tasks.

Accepted the job offer here for the Elk Gold ore haul based on a extremely high advertised wage. A current driver that started up the haul confirmed the pay was fantastic. Once I signed on with 2 other guys, rate dropped by around .53 cents per ton, $6-$7 per hour depending on total trip time. Manager sounded very surprised that I figured it out and didn't have a answer for why when I questioned it. If it's advertised as equivalent to $43.34 per hour still it's not. More like $36. Otherwise easy run. 

Lots of incidents in the little time I worked there, that effected our hours. Equipment was down a lot, resulting in hours cut or a bunch of us washing rock. Worked at a lot of places and this was by far the most unsafe environment I've worked in. I got hired on as haul truck operator. Only operated a rock truck for one day. Spent the rest of the time running Packer. Told I was going to get trained on a scraper, that never happened. 

We worked long hours, with little days off which meant good paychecks. One bonus of working with Lake Excavating this summer is that they took the time to train me on a D8 and D9 Cat. Due to shortage of work I was laid off long before I had enough hours for EI. My baby boy is going on eight months so I need to find a more secure job to support him and my wife.

My typical day was prefect worked and had fun, I all ready learned how to run Equipment but enjoy it. They were cool just do your job. The hardest part was nothing thats just me. I enjoy working there and I enjoy it at that time before I had BACK surgery. So I hope that is what you all wanted to know.

The shop manager in Williams lake will mess you over. Constantly telling the owner lies about you. The equipment is not new and expectations are beyond reasonable to achieve.  You will be constantly belittled by the owners son. There is a Junior high school atmosphere with the endless throwing fellow workers under the bus. 
Bank your money as you wont last long.

Learn a lot in Construction company, salary is good. Work hard earn lots of money.  Management is good very accommodating , lots learn in company. Learn how to drive a roller compactor and handy compactor too. Lots of shovelling but sometimes we have free snacks from management.

Safety meeting each morning.  Instructions for day's work and proceed to work.  Co-workers were helpful.  Maintain equipment throughout the shift (greasing, fueling, etc.)

got an offer from this clown show and when going thru their hiring package i was told to ignore the safety manual...Instant red flag....spoke with a few former employees and they said the same thing.....safety is very low priority with this gong show.....id avoid them liek the plague
