A good place to get some experience towards your apprenticeship as a tradesman. The only issue however is that the ops manager doesn't know how the apprenticeship system works and he might prematurely lay you off for having high expectations from thinking you're a journeyman when you're really an apprentice who only completed x amount of years into your apprenticeship. Other than that the experience you get from repairing the snowcats and/or busses is good for techs newer to that stuff. The free ski pass is a great bonus and you get an incredible discount for private skiing/snowboarding lessons. Housing was good and fairly priced before it burned down this past summer (RIP Chucktown) . And of course you get to live in a beautiful part of the country. If you get a job here I recommend you have as much fun as possible during your days off because the resort management unfortunately sees most employees as numbers instead of people

One of the best things about working here is the people you work with will be like family. Accommodations are provided for most positions and are fairly priced in my opinion. There’s always room to move up into higher, better paying positions and they encourage their staff to do so for the most part. There is a ceiling however as the most of the management has been there for 10+ years. There’s also a massive disconnect between management and frontline staff, with so many positions in between entry level and top level management and such high turn around on staff there is a big feeling that you’re not valued. There is 5+ years of service incentives and great health benefits for full-time, year-round staff, they grant apprenticeships to those who show they’re capable, but the disconnect between management and the remoteness of the location are not easily handled by everyone.

What is the best part of working at the company?
My schedule was 4 on/3 off.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management completely out of touch with employees, they do not care about you at all.
Management also lies constantly, even regarding matters such as staff housing.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Extremely toxic work environment. Nobody has your back. Very fend for yourself.

Terrible place to work, no communication from upper management at all. My supervisor wouldn’t even bother to show up most of the time. Seagull management style all around, just swoop down to lay one on you, then they take off again. Will only get ahead if you party hard. Most upper management are terribly under qualified. Very unsafe workplace practices, definitely do not adhere to OHS standards. Just looking for someone undereducated enough to say yes. 

World class resort with many opportunities available to those willing to learn and grow. Chances to move up from casual staff to management. Opportunity to experience the Canadian Rockies. With staff from all over the world you can meet new people who will significantly impact your life. Staff accommodations and transportation options are not the best but that is a given in any remote ski town. Pay is low, the greater value is in the experience.

I was a server so I made great money. Good hours and good money would definitely recommend as a server.

If your looking for a holiday other jobs are good. Money is garbage but if it is just a holiday that shouldn't matter, and it is a good place to work.

Try to stay away from cashier as they get treated crappily.

work in very cold wheather conditions. ski and snowboard at work. not very good wage and takes a very long time to move up in the company.

Work is work, but the staff at the ski hill really insure that we are enjoying every minute of it. The bonds and memories that you create in this environment is priceless. I would work here again if i had the opportunity!

Overall, this company was a fun place to work. Not a career maker but I learned a lot and had a great time. I would recommend this company as a place to work.

I enjoyed acting as a lift operator. Whilst the job and life style are amazing the management could do to help the staff get more from the experience.
