Working with the ski resort holds many different experiences based on where you are located. A simple chef/dishwasher positions will provide exactly as expected with a large open concept kitchen where you will find serving a handful of different meal options for a line of hungry skiiers.

In the direction of the ski lifts you will find suitable job placements such as a lift driver, tubing support, and instructors teaching the ways of the hills. All of which will be keeping outdoors and in the snow, so be prepared with some extra layers.

Lakeridge was not a great experience. I went into work nearly everyday wanting to quit. Many people were rude and would not listen to your basic instructions. Although the place would close at 9:30 and rental equipment should be back 15 prior to closing. That rarely happened and I would not get out until 11:00 most nights. The scheduling was bad as well, I had many night classes this past semester and I told him I cannot work during the week for this reason. I would often find myself still scheduled during the week. I could go on but bad things about this job. Needless to say I am not surprised that they have to host a job fair every year because nobody comes back for a second year...

Like many of my coworkers, this was my first job! Lakeridge Ski Resort hires many young people with little to no work experience and lots of potential, helping them gain valuable experience that will be required by their future employers. The work environment is relaxed and friendly, and senior staff was always willing to help new workers. When I was a cashier, I found that there were many opportunities to experience other job positions (tube park, rentals, ski school...) if I wanted to. It's a bit of an inconvenient location (and often in unpredictable winter conditions), but if you're willing to make the drive, it's a good beginner job!

Lakeridge has been an amazing place to work for the past few years, and I would recommend it to anyone. As a teenager in high school, I was paid minimum wage for teaching 5 1-hour / 1.5-hour lessons on a weekend day. The staff are extremely friendly and welcome all new comers. It is a very safe environment and the staff is treated immaculately. It is definitely a work out and involves a lot of physical excersise, but if you're someone who loves teaching and/or skiing, I would highly recommend applying when the season rolls around!

When the shift supervisor throws a chair at you and yells because the printer won’t work.

Low pay, exploitative and unethical

I would have to cash customers out and at the end of the shift close your till.

I am stressed to the max everyday. They do not schedule enough workers to run the tube park. I dont always get a break during my shifts. There is no communication amongst the departments. The owner is so money hungry. They book so many customers everyday, when there simply is not enough staff to run the tube park successfully. It's been like this every year and they never look to fix the problems. If you want to work here, do not work in the tube park. We are treated so unfairly.

Crazy busy days can be stressful.

Very friendly work environment ... everyone's role is valued within the organization.

Enjoyable, fun, dynamic, challenging, etc.

Working at Lakeridge was always an excellent time. The supervisors were very polite and thoughtful, there was no confrontation with the supervisors. My fellow co-workers were always friendly and always pleasant to be around. For me, the most enjoyable part of the job was seeing my kids improvement each week when I took them out skiing, and watch them adapt to my feedback and apply it to the lesson.

Great place to work if you enjoy skiing or snowboarding , no stress and always a lot of fun due to the type of people who chose to work here. Management is amazing and easy to work with. Had a ton of fun working for Lakeridge while in college, and only left once I graduated and got a job in my field. Definitely recommend working here. Only drawback is its cold!

This was a great first job. It provided me with lots of exposure to customer service. The job includes lots of talking to people and patience. You should be outgoing, considerate, and ok with the cold. The supervisors are very forgiving and are there to help when needed. The hardest part of the job was temperamental customers. The most enjoyable part of the job is the friendly staff.
