Fast paced, Never know exactly which job you'll do til the last minute.
In 22 years I've learned everthing about my area and a lot about other areas.
The present management in spite of what they say, do not care about Quality just Quantity saftey only matters when something happens and a WCB claim is filed.
The co-workers are hard workers but due to the many different languages spoken communication is difficult.
The most enjoyable part of the job is going home at the end of the day.
It wasn't always like this, Lakeside used to be a great place to work, and there was a lot of pride in the job you did and therefore Quality was of a high standard, and going to work was not a chore in itself.

Meeting company goals everyday,management kept us informed on buisness matters. Being involved with many cultures,striving to understand and being understood. Meeting production goals with the general maintenance issues. My best duties as a supervisor was enjoying the people,cooking for my fellow supervisors,making it through a snowstorm/ power outage on an overnight adventure of securing all product from production floor

We all know lakeside meat packers, its the only company in Brooks that boom the economy there. And is one of the largest beef processing company that employ three quarter of the population in brooks. but there is no time for social and fun.  the bottom line is the money is good.

I spent almost 4 years working there with a knife, a ruler and safety equipment from head to toes.
Repetitive motions are part of the deal, loud cold environment, strict breaks.
Lots of different nationalities, no room for racism!
Management is focused on making money for the company, not for you. You ARE a number. An expandable item.
Predictable long hours, pay was always direct deposit on time.
Meet lots of people.

I'm hoping things have improved in the safety department since I worked there .   The drive to make their quota s often superceded safety.  Corners were often cut  and safety was not promoted there like it is at other plants ... just get the job done !

Typical day. I had 15 orders to complete in 8 hrs. About 20 000 lb of product to process every day. Very challenging but rewarding.It took a lot of planing and organizing to minimize downtime.

the nine years i was there i was treated good as a worker and also had fun and safe coworkers around all the time due to the great interaction of the workers and the supervisors each and every day

My work in lakeside packers was in the proccessing area consisted of 450 legs per shift of 8 hours worked on the morning shift from monday to friday and saturdays when the company required it.

I loved working there . Fast paced 40 plus hours a week . Lots of available overtime. Working in a temp controlled environment. Their is so much to learn there. Packing . Kill floor . Box shop. Process floor. Cools

I was hired as Quality control, Steady work, good pay, great benefit. good CPP and sometimes your 8 hour day could be more than 12 hours a day. A great place to work
