LBN has been a fantastic workplace for me. I began my journey with them in a hands-on role and have since transitioned to an office position, where I am currently working towards my SECOR certification. LBN is excellent at providing opportunities for career advancement and encourages employees to pursue further education and training. When I first joined, I had no prior experience and lacked motivation to start a career. However, the support from managers and the various development programs offered by the company inspired me to become more deeply involved. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, but the team members and managers know how to make it enjoyable. Additionally, LBN organizes company events regularly, more than five times a year, creating a laid-back atmosphere. It really is a great place to work and I'm excited to become a bigger part of LBN 

The environment seemed good at the start, but once I got to site everything changed. I was not impressed how I was treated once actual work started. I was told I was a crew leader and the first day being almost 11 hours long I got heat stroke from being over worked. I was alone for several hours while the guy I worked with had to do other work. I push mowed for 2/3 of the shift then did a bit of trimming followed by almost 2.5 hours of hand picking weeds. I’ve never seen a property be as poorly maintained in my 7+ years of landscaping/maintenance. Would not recommend working here.

Working at LBN requires those who are proud of their work and also like to have a good time with good people. The people of LBN is what makes this place special - the employees are cheerful, hard working and overall a joy to be around. The company cares equally about their people as well as about productivity, which is generally rare. 

The owners are very dedicated to making sure that LBN is a destination company for employees, and are very clear to their staff that it is a priority. 

A typical day on the job includes meeting up with your crew in the morning at a predetermined location, driving to various suburban communities and provide thorough and professional landscaping and snow removal tasks. Every day is a learning experience with a diverse cast of some amazing coworkers and a very inclusive workplace culture! 

The job is physical in nature and isn't the easiest work but it is very gratifying to see the difference you make to an environment and to the people who live in it. 

Show up to the shop help set up trucks if needed, go to your sites and remove snow or ice as needed. They’ve taught me techniques which can make it easier to shovel and scrape snow in a quick and orderly manner. Management and everyone In the workplace everyone is super kind and respectful. Hardest part is the cold weather and longer hours outside, best part is how nice everyone is and welcoming, they make you feel like a part of the team! 

no job security, poor management, extremely long hours, breaks are discouraged so that all sites are completed on time, never had a full crew because manager was consistently firing workers, poor quality tools/equipment (always breaking down, not maintained properly, shortage of tools/equipment). Company has taken on too much responsibility and does not hire enough workers to complete the work; therefore, overworking the staff that does stick around.

I worked as a technician for a week. A typical day included preparing equipment, assisting with landscaping tasks, and ensuring everything was safe and clean. I learned how to operate landscaping tools and improved my teamwork. Management was organized and respectful. The team was friendly and supportive. The most enjoyable part was working outdoors and seeing the results of our work.

Just finished my first week of work. You can feel that this is a professional and efficient team. Everyone knows what they are doing and is willing to help you, which is a very positive thing. What's even cooler is that as long as you are willing, you can always find your development direction. The company never skimps on employee training, so let go and do it. Great working atmosphere, friendly and professional HR team, can really help you. 

I have worked in several similar companies, and LBN is exactly what a Canadian workplace should be. It may not be perfect, but management understands the importance of updating the fleet and equipment, maintaining it on time, and—just as importantly—creating a healthy team environment. Good relationships in the team are built from small things: a cup of tea, friendly advice, productive meetings—all of this gives you energy to work through the day. The pay is higher than in other companies.

After working here for a year now I am more than happy to say that LBN is an amazing company! They really care about their employees, are always looking for ways to make improvements and actually care about the staff think.  Sure, sometimes things are hard, but that's landscaping for you!
