If you’re operating equipment and/or Production lines & the Machines stop and break down almost every day at any moment then your life at work is constantly full of stress, anxiety and worries because the Machinery is TOO OLD and remember Work stress can lead to physical illness, as well as psychological distress and mental illness plus we got the covid stress daily.
Management treats their employees extremely good and with respect but I don't know if they know the serious problem with their old machines. The breakdowns are always costly for companies and the mechanics take too long to do their job, some of them walk slow and get mad if you call them often. if they get a New Tray Packaging Machines, I’m sure you don’t need to have so many mechanics doing nothing, the line production wouldn't stop (more production, more money and work) the company would save time and money and everybody would start their shift happy and without any worries, stress and anxiety. That was the main reason why I preferred to look for work in another company… we don’t want more stress in this covid time.
If they send you to Palletizer the only problem is the Forklift drivers like to listen to the radio too loud, and the radio is next to you, not to them. It’s absolutely maddening, If the radio is that loud surely it will have an impact on some of the safety precautions - audibility of e.g. Fire/Evacuation Alarms, failing to hear instructions or warnings from colleagues (if you have that amount of trouble hearing a nearby colleague, you are not very likely to hear a colleague a few yards away) I am also concerned about your hearing If the noise level is that high.

What is the best part of working at the company?
When the production is going well ,it’s one of the best job for a forklift operator. Could be a bit chilly at times ,but manageable. Fairly well structured  on the schedules ,works and breaks. A good number of people working at the same time, giving a great dynamical sense.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is no stress really , although it could be busy.You are never quiet alone out there ,in case of overwhelming circumstances from the flow of production.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most of the people or from the nearest neighborhood. It’s local . They know what they’re doing and some have bean there for a longtime. Those ones, were kind and easy going for talk and what not.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
To work as a fork lift operator at the end of the production lines. To carry the final products at computerized locations or for shipping. Some maintenance to the lines as well upon mechanical needs in order to keep the lines going: like refurbishing the pallets or plastic rap,etc. Most of the task would be done in a refrigerator during a day of wrk.

I do have a good experienced while working here. They are safety cautious and co-workers were nice especially the management down to the HR. Typical day at work stack/arrange boxes into the pallet. Hardest part of the job is when the robot broke down needs to palletize a little heavier boxes  continuously until the robot is fix. Also, in my opinion, one of the mechanic should be on the floor to monitor the machines especially in the small lines as the machines in these lines often break and it does give stress to the operator when it takes longer to fix. 

The most enjoyable part is when all machines running smoothly, all stickers and labels were attached when the boxes arrived into the palletizing area. Overall, I am confident recommending to work this company management was really nice to their employees!



Unfortunately Lassondes Closed their doors of Nov. 2011. We had wonderful management. I took care of all the mail to be distribute. Prepared bills to accounts. Had invoices signed. Filing, photocopying. Reception screen phone calls for management. Prepare Manifest for truck loads to be delivered. Maintained inventory. The hardest part was when we slowed down at the end of season and it was quite. I loved to be busy. I learned different computer program that I never used before.

I felt that LWC Calgary has a great team enjoyed working with them. the leader(plant Manager) is out of touch and rules by bullying the Employees. 
the hardest part of the job was I took on too much responsibility. When the warehouse manager was let go and the production planner was also let go. I took on both responsibility  plus my own duties as inventory. 
the only issue was lack of support from management. My believe in order to succeed you have to have strong leadership. Which was not present in this plant

only French Canadians working in the department, very few immigrants or English-speaking Canadians, generally bad atmosphere, people pressed like lemons, they transform apples from China into juices and everybody thinks (customers) that their juices are made of Canadians apples...

A. Lassonde is a thriving, fast paced workplace where pressure to succeed is always present, it is a company on the grow with great brands. 

It is a great place for junior employees as they are treated and paid very well. 

It is a tough place to work in upper management (Director, VP and above), the pressure placed upon you is almost unbearable at times and although they pay quite well, it is a thankless job and the pressure and employee treatment often drives great people away.

I have been working In Lassonde for 10 years, and I love the job so much, but because life have to move on I have to live Lassonde and come to Saskatoon for my education, I move here to go to school, i am now in Emmanuel and St Chad college,  doing theology, 
without coming in here I may not be here I should be working now in Lassonde, but because I have to go to school I have to be here. 
the paid was very good which I will not get here in Saskatoon, but because I was working in Calgary.

the factory had a lot of machinery that cause the work place to suffer from noise pollution, but proper safety equipment is provided to work in such environment. It was a fun experience to work there and opened my eyes to courier patches that I did not know about. In all it was a fantastic work experience.

I worked here for almost 3 months.  People and supervisors be nice with you and stab your back.  Machines stops and break down almost everyday.  Mechanics take whole shift to fix the machine. Unqualified staffs.  Everybody wants to save their selves so blames on the floor level workers.
