A typical day at Jean Coutu Pharmacy starts at 7:50 am everyday. The first think I had to do is to open all the Lab cash registry, computers and sanitize the counters.
At 8:00 am doors are open then the client starts coming in for their medication and others for day to day business. in the Lab things are quiet different, a typical morning may start with10 clients.3 with new prescription waiting to be filled, 2 ordered by phone and 3 need over the counter medication that they need to fill a form in order to get the medication, 2 have questions regarding the price on their medication. Meanwhile I had to take phone orders or solve problems while the delivery man is waiting medication that I am passing at the cash to be delivered that morning.
All the 10 clients were very important to the Pharmacy and the delivery man too, but I had to prioritize whom to serve first while others are waiting without hearting their feelings or making them wait for too long or without making them feel that they are being neglected. I had to show other clients where other products are found outside the Pharmacy Laboratory, which was part of Customer Service. In case I was overwhelmed I had to call a commis or ask my colleagues for help.
I learned to be productive, humble, flexible, patient, apologetic, and positive all the time and to keep on the smile all day. it also added on my knowledge of medication(Drug) and it's uses, side effects and symptoms. All my co- workers, management and the pharmacists were very positive and helpful all the time despite the fact that I was the only one in my department. Regardless of all the yelling from impatient clients and name calling I still enjoyed my job because it was pleasure helping and meeting new people every day, some of them became good friends. Some clients were very nice, kind and grateful for the service that we were offering and some would come back just to say Thank You for the service and that made my day. The most think that I liked about my job was the fact that by the end of the day I knew that I helped some one.

A typical day at Jean-coutu Kirkland is quite calm. We mostly do facing, stocking and help clients find the products they are looking for in the pharmacy. We also advise them to buy Personelle (Jean-Coutu's home brand). Twice a week we receive the order and it is our job to put it where it goes whether it is a display, on the selves or in the stock room.
The management was horrible since the first manager there bought way to much useless merchandise and then quit. What was left of the mess had to be dealt with by the last manager who didn't quite realize the scope of the troubles.
My co-workers were all amazing. conflicts arose at times but were quickly resolved.
It was a relaxed environment and there weren't many hard or troublesome parts to this job but i am very capable of handling stress.
the most enjoyable part of the job is definitely helping the clients out in any way possible.

I’ve been at this company for almost 3 years as a store clerk. Not sure if this is because of covid but you are expected to go above and beyond with your workload. As a clerk, you are basically a second cashier and even cosmetician sometimes. You are expected to know every thing a cashier does, know every product in the store, to fulfill orders and much more. The salary is absolutely ridiculous, after almost 3 years I only have a 20 cent raise above minimum wage, I have a coworker who has been there for 6-7 years and only gets 14.50$. Clerks are unappreciated, they should start above minimum wage for the amount of work you do. Management honestly depends on location, so I can’t speak for that. My management is just condescending and has favorites. But schedule is very flexible for students, that is the only reason I still work here.

A typical day at work consisted of making sure patients were taken care of and happy, handling cash and debit transactions, and helping the Pharmacist with the counting of medications. 

My co-workers were extremely helpful and were always there if there was something I needed help with. 

The hardest part of the job was seeing the patients sick/unhappy when they came in to get their prescriptions. 

The most enjoyable part was  when the patients were happy and satisfied with my Customer Service. The smiles on their faces always made my day.

During my time at Jean Coutu, I particularly learned patience. Prescriptions are not done as soon as a patient walks in. I had to learn to be patient and understanding towards angry and impatient customers.

You start crying in the car before getting to work every day and end your day crying in the car when you leave…..Other than the Pharmacist job, there aren’t any jobs there I don’t do….And you have to act as a Security guard and run after people even outside…..Everyone that work there are looking for jobs elsewhere…..No one ever gets paid more than minimum wage, forget that raise he mentioned to you in your interview, that was just a cover-up……If you work too slow, even if it’s because you help the cassier person or ran after someone, you will lose your job after the first time your boss disciplines you.

Typical day At Work: Show up a little earlier to make sure you have all lottery tickets and stock needed for your day. Open the store with a smile and provide the best service you can give. 

What I've learned: Working in this environment takes flexibility and knowledge of the products you sell. 

Management: Very welcoming to the team and always pushing you to give your 100 %. This was a great team to work with.

Co-Workers: Monkey see, monkey do... If they see your working hard, they will too. Always helping one another.

Hardest part of my job: Keeping a smile on my face even with the most difficult customers. Also having to report back to the manager when an employee did not meet the standards required. 

Enjoyable part of my job: Seeing that you made someone else's day with getting them what they needed.

A typical day consisted of reporting to the foreman, being assigned what sector I would be working that day.
Operating the warehouse computer system attached to a moving cart. I would then begin taking items for the order that was given by the system, inspecting items prior placing them in the package. Once an order was finished, close it up with stamping the information of the order and place it on the conveyor belt.

Management was very friendly and made everyone feel like they had a purpose for being there.

The hardest part of the job was if your socks had holes while wearing steal toe boots. 

The most enjoyable part was operating the lift skid machine as well as having other employees looking out and helping one another to make the shift, effective and efficient.

I worked in the Sackville location. Great people and I was able to get promoted to cosmetician position which I absolutely loved! I had no idea that I was that good in sales, then when I worked here. There is lots of commission to be had. 2% of everything Personelle you sell and if you are cosmetician, you get more commission on makeup you sell.

The company is really great, I love their brand of products and they are affordable for everyone. 

As a cosmetician, however, I wish there was a bit more formal training. I had to learn on my own much of the time in my time off to be able to sell products. I also had to pay for products if I wanted to sell. They didn't have much for samples for us to try their regular product, except for the French skincare lines.

In this pharmacy, there's no formal training, leaving employees to fend for themselves, which often results in patient complaints and frustrations. The hours are grueling, and the pharmacy's inefficiency regularly leads to heated confrontations with patients. Moreover, the workplace is plagued by unprofessional  colleagues that gossip all day, with even the head pharmacist participating in that weird behavior. They talk badly about co-workers and patients which is very alarming. While there are a few kind souls among the staff, they're overshadowed by the majority who make the atmosphere downright depressing. In short, this environment is rife with issues, and improvements in professional development and a more respectful culture seem like a distant dream.

It was a good job where everyone was helping each other. I learned a lot on the way we see things; in working with sick people (I was cashier at the drugs counter) we come to see life in a way where everything is more important, where every second counts, every little detail matters at some point. The working team I was in was great, I had good moments and got along well with everyone. I may have found it a little difficult at the beginning, to see that people were comming to get their prescriptions filled such often. I found it sad for them. But then I became used to it and all I could do was being as dynamic and smiling as I could so they could start their day a little better. I liked it there because I felt like I was helping people, in some way.
