What is the best part of working at the company?
You will be bullied and pushed…not to work hard but just for simplicity of conforming. They help take the sting away though with a quarterly pizza party so it’s cool right? 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having 30 managers, coaches, supervisors all without proper training. If you voice any kind of opinion in there prepare for retaliation and prepare for no one to have your back. HR needs to do a clean sweep, I thought it was bad in building but I’m starting to feel as though it’s trickled up. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The closest thing I can think of is a penitentiary… they operate like an office even though it’s a warehouse. If you’re applying here thinking of a warehouse environment you are WRONG. It’s a lot like being back to high school when it comes to the floor. A lot of people make this job their lives.. pro tip “get a hobby aside from bullying” 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Keeping my head down as much as possible because if I open my mouth it usually turned to suspension. Constantly wondering what sad excuse of a problem they were going to bring up today. You couldn’t work two days in a row without having some king of issue in that building.

Wow Lear ....
They start off telling you how great the place is and how you can move up and make your own hours . They lead you on to think you can move up in the company and join the union. So many people have to retire before they can even ask you to join meanwhile taking small union dues every check. They say it is not forced to work 6 days a week but if you want a day off you get punished and only work Friday and Saturday. People that have been there over 10 years do not even like the place and around 90 percent of the workers hate being there and the pay and hours. So glad I left Lear in ajax . Worst experience when you find out what is really going on and you will be very disappointed.  I give lear 1 star for being clean that is it . 
If you want a life and pay do not work there the union says they help you by paying 50 cents above minium wage . I thought they were joking and when I cracked a smile I just got dirty looks.

It was fairly easy to book vacation time.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything is always seemingly one step away from a crisis. Fellow employees are quite nice, but the stress of the job creates a confrontational environment in the workplace.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company promotes itself as inclusive and sensitive to mental health issues. In reality, the rigorous top-down management style fosters a confrontational environment. Consequently, there can be a lot of finger pointing. More often than not, it's not a pleasant work environment.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Carry out inspections to try and be proactive regarding system breakdowns.
Quickly diagnose and resolve issues to prevent downtime.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Coworkers.. most are genuine and pleasant to work with. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
On your feet all day. Management always negative. No praise ! Lousy pay a bit above minimum wage and grind you daily. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Decent people. Culture was better a while back. Hiring practices are questionable. Honestly the culture is not good at the moment.. especially after gm, ford workers received a huge bump in pay, bonuses etc..  no sick days, get written up for ridiculous, petty things. Bottom line WAY underpaid for what we do for a Fortune 500 company!

Same repetitive thing!  Always under the microscope !

Being elected as a shift union rep by my co workers was a exciting experience.I then had a chance to take many coarses to improve my skills and educate myself in the areas I need to be able to deal with.Beyond doing production work,I had a chance to negotiate a contract with Lear and the C A W union..Typical days would inclued doing overtime sheets and filing paper work to managment and the union,health and safty and unemployment.I also had to defend other employees in matters at work.I work well under pressure and in hectic situations ..as per dealing with almost all men in a factory setting.

For the better part of eighteen years I managed and directed 16 to 32 people within a JIT environment, in both production and material handling. I learned the values of respect, both giving and receiving, and the importance of keeping and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Managers did not micro manage, but allowed you to make decisions regarding your job. It is important to establish a working relationship with co-workers and to give assistance if needed. Like most jobs, motivating workers requires constant need, and the most enjoyable part was to have workers dedicated to their job and duties.

If you like having 90% of your paycheques incorrect and them refusing to fix them, the worst health and safety in a factory I’ve ever seen, being written up for pointless reasons while Ukrainians sit and watch YouTube on their phones all day without being written up, having union reps that don’t understand privacy gossiping about all the workers and their private lives while not doing their job to protect you,  and the worst management you could possibly imagine this is the job for you! 

Overall a decent working experience in a factory environment.  As an employee, you will be trained to use various tools in order to build/ assemble parts necessary to complete your assigned task.  Many of the jobs both on and off of the line are relatively simple jobs requiring you to follow a simple procedure.  One of the only downsides to working in a factory environment is the long tedious days that you perceive completing the same task over and over.  on the other hand, you will always be given consistent work hours (40-48 hours per week) with a fair wage.

This place is toxic at its core. Lear oshawa forgets that its workers are employees and not prisoners. There is a difference between being strict and being oppressive, this place doesn't understand that. There is zero reason to do good work because you'll still get treated the exact same as the guy who calls in 3 days a week and is an awful worker. Management is beyond useless and HR doesn't care about the workers. Avoid unless absolutely desperate for work! 

Supervisors don’t know the job your doing and cannot do it themselves. They add more things to your inspection everyday but do not change your tack time. Hated going to work. Everyone is intoxicated in one way or another. Some people are pretty good but they don’t realize they are just a number. If u still live at home you can afford to work here. If you own or rent you will not be able to afford to live. Seniority takes all the overtime. A bunch of drama queens and I cannot say all the things  I saw and heard at this place or this will not be posted.
