Legend 3D

Being part of the film industry means it's liable to suffer from the same failings that is typical in that industry.  Everyone's expendable from project to project so job security isn't particularly high.  They pay you as little as they can despite many films making hundreds of millions in profits though if Hollywood accounting were to be believed, Return of the Jedi "did not make a profit" among other similar blockbuster films.

Note the above statement applies to the entertainment industry in general and  isn't specific to Legend.  They're merely a cog in the machine and are at the mercy of filmmakers wishing to get the most profit as well.  Keeping costs down starts at the top and Legend isn't at the top unfortunately.

Specific to the company itself, it's a typical studio setting.  Everyone's friendly and enjoys their work.  There's a general sense of pride in the work itself and along with that is a high standard of quality expected in each shot.

Some job positions can be very tedious and meticulous.  The stereo artist is one of the more enjoyable jobs but can run out of shots to work on when there's less projects available in the pipeline (ie: despite having several projects, the stereo artists have to wait on those ahead of the pipeline from time to time).  During those slow times, they can be expected to help in other positions' work such as rotoscoping.  Rotoscoping is a nightmare of a task to do and is very mind numbing.  Tight deadlines and high tensions does not compare to the monotony that is rotoscoping.

Overall, a good company to work for but as mentioned before, understand that you're going to be part of a very ethically and borderline legally dubious industry that is the entertainment industry. 
 Having said that, this review of Legend 3D that's in Canada and it's not as subject to the same laws as the US branch which has to deal with their own legal framework.  We enjoy far more protections in Canada than in the US (though for less pay).

Please leave your naivety at the door if you wish to work at this company.

The Toronto location no longer exists, they did mass layoffs the in Toronto of 2018 to outsource all the work. During my time there, it was quite depression for me. Post-production is very stressful in the sense where our deadlines are tighter than any other part of the production line. The actual work was whatever, but the environment was touch. Sitting in a dark, cold, quiet room for 12 hours a day(during busy season) and "optional" overtime on weekends too. It made it really hard to have any life outside of work or to really even enjoy being at work for so long. Like, it wouldn't been nice to have a nice lounge area and some other things to make working those long hours more tolerable. The facilities were okay, the lunch room (depending on the floor you were on) were all right. It just wasn't my cup of tea and it seemed like our company was really selling our work for nothing to try and bag big clients...which is probably why they couldn't afford to keep paying all of us.

The first day working there the supervisor said " you'd make a lot of money working here but you'd have no life" , now that they took the governments money to make Canadian jobs and moved to india i guess neither are true.
If your experienced working with 3d software and such its not hard to learn what you need. however supervisors often had conflicting ideas on what was "acceptable" leading to a lot of wasted time. the workers were in constant "crunch" time which leads to a load of a lot of stress.
The giant room you'll work in is cold enough to require a blanket and always cold. So very very cold. and always dark. it gets very disorienting at times.it was generally very unpleasant.

Work is great and people are very friendly.... however..... management has not been the best considering many high level people leave, a new CEO was brought on board 6 months ago, though the same mistakes and new mistakes are always being made.  Double booking projects leading to people working 12+ hour shifts for over six month periods.  When this was fixed, the management did not coordinate constant work and as such many people were let go, only to rehire the same day for a starting date months away.

It is a great job, but having to live every day with the thought of you might be out the door cause someone higher up screwed up is not a good environment to work in.

Underhanded business that is an example of why unions should exist in this industry. Pushed the boundaries of labour laws in Canada, continually expected contract employees to work 12 hr shifts 7 days per week (you don't have to but they don't need to extend your contract either) and rarely ever invested in giving on-screen credit to all the artists who worked tirelessly to meet deadlines.

Fun people, mostly fresh out of college. In house training for the depth department. Some fun company wide things, small social committee. HR was a department you could go to if you had any issues. Long hours though. Little to no work/life balance. Wishywashy schedule instructions from higher up. Long periods of no work, or too muck work.

Multiple Labour board infractions. Management is nepotistic, and erratic quality. Training is inconsistent to non-existent. significant hostility toward people with responsibilities (i.e. kids, sick or infirm relatives)

It was okay to work at for a starting job. We worked Over time almost everyday. 

The movies we worked on were cool, but the office you worked in looked like a tomb. I don't think they ever turned on the lights

Try it, do not worry when cut out.
Just a huge bunch of people swallowing everything they are feed on.
Production Artist is a nice name though,
providing you know that all adjectival nouns are not actually what the noun itself means.
But no longer, never more, not my circus.

Working at Legend was a high stress and demanding position especially for artists working to turn around shots in a timely manner. It is very difficult to have a life outside of work because you work overtime a lot.
