Salary and work hours are decent. Benefits are good. I've worked there for 7 months and was very good at this job. Montreal is a location where you need to be 4 employees. It is busy there and customers rely on that location for a lot of problem solving on top of the regular parts and units sales (ex: warranty issues, returns, damaged units, order errors, etc)  This position requires you to multi-task constantly and prioritize as you have to answer customers at the counter, on the phone and by e-mail, as well as knowing how to do shipping/receiving. I liked the job until my manager and colleague quit after I was there for 3 months and was forced to do the job of two people constantly. Day after day, for weeks and weeks I've been skipping my breaks, cutting my lunch break short, doing over-time, because they needed to hire a new manager and another employee at the counter (plus they need to be trained). I learned quickly and took on many responsibilities. It is a very corporate environment where you need to jump through 20 hoops to get anything done. Their systems are not user-friendly and take a while to understand (I've trained two new people, both of them took notes in notebooks and were still lost and making mistakes in SAP and other softwares). Upper management is disconnected and clueless, they are based in Toronto while store is in Montreal and other one in Longueuil (They closed the Quebec store due to poor performance) They visit once every two months and just look at stats and numbers. They DO NOT value good employees, the better you work, the more they dump on you without compensation. They rather negotiate with potential hires than employees who have proven themselves. The "on-going training" is atrocious and never-ending, be ready to watch hours on end of coma-inducing powerpoint slides... The final straw for me was when I was left alone with a new guy in a location where you NEED to be four employees, while both managers for the only two Quebec stores are on vacations the SAME week during the busy season. I had a truck waiting to be unloaded in the back, while dealing with a rush of customers at the counter, phone ringing LITERALLY non-stop, problems pilling up, etc. I quit after trying to speak up about being constantly short-staffed and carrying the workload of two people. I was laughed at and told to leave by the new manager, so I did... this company is a joke and should be treated as such

I worked for the Customer Service Department in Lennox's Brampton office. I got the job with no HVAC experience, but several years in customer service. They give you a 4 week course to familiarize you with their HVAC product and the systems they use at the call centre.

The team I work was excellent. Management was very supportive--even other CSR's were eager to help and see their team mates succeed. Great work- life balance. If your shift is finished at 4, then more often than not, you are clocking out at 4. 

The con: I worked as a contractor. It may be years before a contractor gets hired on by Lennox. Although the pay is decent for contractors, this means no benefits.

Lennox is a good company if you are full-time permanent. If you are on contract just know you will be on contract for a very long time. There are people in the department that have been on contract for 5 years very very sad. The main reason they don’t want to hire people permanent is because it will miss up with the employees who are full time vacation time.

Very high turn over rate, people come in and out like a revolving door.

The people are nice it’s a decent company to work for, just know when going in you don’t have no chance of getting Full-time.

Work 9:30 am to 6 with one hour lunch no breaks .

I have to work 4 hours before I can get my lunch time. They encourage you to work overtime but never pay overtime rates. 
Manipulate and emotional blackmail into working overtime.

Never speak the truth if you want to work there for a long time. Ensure you as they say and not as they do type of culture.

Learned a great deal in customer service, corporate sales and Indoor air quality as the subject matter expert.Honed skills in presentations, training and coaching.

Excellent product knowledge program, however lacks customer service training and warranty policies. Management is constantly re-directing issues to different departments. Co-workers are pleasant and outgoing, most enjoyable part is being able to win days off through games.

Stay far away from this company until upper management changes. Very old boys club atmosphere. Do as I say, not as I do. One set of rules for some, another for others. Constant drama between departments, no inventory, and unanimously agreed upon terrible leadership. If you want to feel like a number, then go ahead and apply. You’ve been warned.

Keep your head down, they aren't interested in your ideas. Otherwise, show up and get paid. Unlikely to get fired unless you're on the ground level. Corporate structure - micromanagement on everything from vaccination to implicit bias, ideological leadership team. 

I loved working for Lennox Industries, Brampton, Ontario.  Management was excellent, best managers I EVER worked for, co-workers were like my family, and I miss each and every one of them.
