Management is condescending and fails to give even basic direction, then blames the staff and punish them for not doing the job correctly that they were never told how to do in the first place. On more than one occasion management has threatened my job when I expressed being uncomfortable with something/someone. Management frequently dug into very personal non work related aspects of my life. Management frequently shows just blatant favoritism including towards the store managers own kid whom was hired after stating we would not be hiring friends or family. Management promoted those who were lazy and often held the rest of the team back, while continuing to look down on those who were picking up the heavy slack and those who often took over management tasks when they were failing to complete them. orders were never placed on time causing stress on the staff dealing with the angry customers who were not receiving the product they needed. staff often also faced punishment from management for the tasks which were managements responsibility. staff was constantly walking on eggshells in fear of managements unpredictable and often aggressive mood swings. management is also frequently unprofessional and rude to customers.

I was hired to do a specific job, part time between the hours of 9 to 5. Monday to Saturday . Shortly after asked to go full time. This minimum wage job entailed everything from ordering, receiving, putting out stock and inventory. When the store moved staff had to pack and move the merchandise, dismantled shelving. Cleaned the empty store. We were moved into a tent in August, with no cooling area, no lunch area, no water, no washroom. When too hot and flooding from rain they finally closed. Staff built shelving and set up the new store, very unorganized. Put products on shelves. Handle every item again to Price sticker every item. Then are given price changes, peel off all stickers and re sticker with changed prices. Handle each item yet again to put security tags on. Find out tags don't work. 
Told must now do all jobs and work evenings and weekends. Ii
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNORGANIZED. 

The people who worked there at the same time as me were awesome, the onsite management while nice socially, can be very shady business wise. I was told to lie on injury reports, Ive had issues with the management not allowing me to speak my mind on topics that I find to be unreasonable for the workplace. This is not a place to grow, to have a career, or somewhere you should stay very long. You have no set responsibilities, no assigned work, just general all over the place dysfunction that spirals from the top down. 

Working at Lens is busy.  Which makes it for a short day.  Management is always helpful and there when you need it.  I love the people I work with.  Teams members are helpful when ever they are needed.
The hardest part of the job is the heat.  It gets very hot during the summer.  Another difficult area is that we would use extra shift.  Some days are unbearably busy.  I have to admit that my favorite part  of the job is the regular customers.  Makes your day awesome.
Overall, I really like working here.  It's all what you make it

The work was incredibly slow paced. Store's organization was in absolute shambles. Was expected to finish a multi day cleaning job within a 6 hour shift. They very quickly cut my hours to thr absolute minimum. Workplace culture was consistently abusive. There was absolutely no product rotation, food and snack items were constantly out of date and we were still expected to sell them. Some things were on shelves so long that the plastic packaging began to deteriorate. 

Loaded and unloaded trucks with wholesale ordered merchandise to price and stock on the floors Or Ship out to another store. I learned the principles of Fast and Effective work experience and plenty of knowledge with Pull Trucks. The management was always friendly and the coworkers enjoyed the job so much most stay 10+ years. The hardest part of the job was stocking Fabrics/Vinyls, Contrary to what they are a Yard long roll weights 70+ pounds and are stacked on a 7ft high Roller yet was my most enjoyable part of the job.

I have extensive fabric knowledge from school and former jobs, but I was given a verbal warning for 'acting like a supervisor' when I would offer advice on fabrics to customers and co-workers. 
Management is lazy and unhelpful, the assistant manager would ignore work to be done and would instead stand around gossiping.
The store was grossly disorganized and understaffed, and though I asked for more than 6 hours a week, my request was ignored.

It was easy to catch on as what to do. It was also a very laid back environment at times as well as enjoyable. Co-workers were extremely kind. Fun seasonal things such as dressing up for Halloween, and secret Santa. At times it was understaffed. Hard to deal with customers when they became irate and when the store was busy. A lot of pressure to get all tasks finished during one or two shifts despite being busy or having only one cashier doing them.

A typical day at work will include the chance of getting yelled at if the boss is in a bad mood and you"ll be expected to do more jobs than there is time for, 

On a good day, everyone talks behind everyone's back (including managers) but this isn't too much of a problem because no one is allowed to work together unless you're helping  the managers.

The job is quite simple and depending on the department, you"ll get someone who really knows their stuff. 

The most enjoyable part of the day is punching out.

After many years working with Lens Mill I have enjoyed every minute of it. If you show willingness to learn you will have no problem taking on new rolls and responsibilities. Management takes the time to teach you and help you through anything. You get treated like you are part of the family and you cant beat that. 
Everyday brings something new. The customers are generally great and love to come in to show off their projects.
