Although in comparison to other retailers, they pay their staff well and the benefits are great, this company is not as inclusive as they advertise. The district managers and store managers are predominantly female and they spend most of their time facilitating internal and external gossip and  has a culture of slandering each other to move ahead. It is not a good work environment to thrive in because favoritism is the only way to be promoted. In all facets of this business, to move ahead, you will need to be under the nose of head office personnel and heel to their every whim. If not, prepare to be stagnant. 

By observation, it is predominantly a white community and most senior management preference are also skewed in that direction. Head office and senior management has little to no cultural diversity, so depending on who you are, you may not feel as represented. There is little training on a management level or training is passed off to whomever is available at the time you are employed, however, the expectations with the lack of support and training is very high from regional and district managers. If you do ask for support, it is given in a hurry but then gossiped in closed groups which includes subordinates and part timers. 

Overall, the products are amazing and easy to sell, the written resources are great once you have the time to search for what you need, but they need a full overhaul of their senior management team who engages in irrelevant banter, favoritism and horrible time management. Prepare to be on the phone seeking help from other stores continually due to lack of communication and direction.

I always closed, so it was typically helping customers, cleaning around the store, checking custies out and closing (cleaning, organizing, sizing clothes, sweeping, etc.). I really liked my coworkers, we had a great team (until everyone started leaving :|) and we built good relationships. I learned alot for it being my first real job; patience, customer service, and much more. The management was very good until our store manager sadly passed away, we have a replacement manager and everything started to change for the worse. Overall, we lack basic communication. No one tells you if you’re doing something wrong or right, you have to wing everything pretty much or ask yourself. But alot of the people you work with are easygoing and fun to be with. It’s also a very diverse crew that we have so it’s easy to fit in no matter what background you are! The hardest part of the job was dealing with certain customers, but that’s any retail job. At Levi’s specifically, was the lack of communication. The easiest part was the flexibility to change your shift, or switch shifts with someone. In general, I am having a pretty good experience at Levi’s so far, it is stressful (it’s retail so it’s expected) and again, being my first job, it’s a good one.

 One of the things I love about working here is mostly the vibe – the whole team feels like family, and everyone’s super passionate about the brand and the products. You get to lead an awesome group of people who are all about delivering great customer service while having fun on the floor.

As a supervisor, I’ve been able to grow my leadership skills by managing day-to-day operations, like making sure sales targets are hit and the store runs smoothly. Plus, you get to be really hands-on with helping team members develop, which is one of the most fulfilling parts for me. There’s a lot of room to be creative in motivating the team and finding ways to make the store’s environment even more customer-friendly.

What’s great about Levi’s is the balance between structure and flexibility. You’ve got clear goals and guidelines, but there’s also freedom to try new ideas when it comes to improving team performance or customer engagement. The management team is super supportive too – they always have your back and give you plenty of chances to learn and grow.

All in all, if you're into fashion, love teamwork, and are looking for a role that challenges you in the best way, I’d definitely recommend this position! Plus, the employee discount is a nice perk too 😊.

I was only there for a little over a month. After awhile I started to realize some things about the way they managed the place. My hours and shifts started off great. Then they started hiring more and more girls. (Which they only hire girls and not guys) I started realizing my hours being cut. They don’t communicate with you if you’re doing something wrong, They’ll just cut your shifts and won’t bother saying anything. My shifts were ALL cut and given to new people who weren’t even done their training yet. The key holders were very unprofessional and talked badly about most of the employees. With that being said, my over all experience was a very negative one. Loved working with the girls but couldn’t handle the amounts of disrespect and feeling like you’re not good enough for them. If you’ve worked here, I’m sure a lot of people will relate with me.. especially since their employees all are stressed and scared they’re going to get cut for nothing. Definitely needs better management and respect if they want to run a proper business.

My experience working at Levi’s was overwhelmingly negative. From the start, the environment felt unwelcoming, and I was often ignored by both management and coworkers. Simple greetings were rare, and the atmosphere was cold and isolating, making me feel like an outsider. Management was unprofessional, rude, and dismissive, with little communication and constant passive-aggressive remarks that created a tense and stressful workplace. They scheduled me for a shift without telling me, which made me look irresponsible and caused unnecessary stress. To make matters worse, they unexpectedly changed my termination date without any explanation and even took me off the schedule an entire month before my expected end date. This lack of communication and respect made it clear that they didn’t value their employees. The hardest part of the job wasn’t the work itself, but the toxic culture and unprofessional behavior that left me constantly on edge and excluded. I left feeling stressed, unappreciated, and deeply disappointed by the way management handled everything.

new Management was hired on as I started working as a part time after I was promoted from seasonal during the month of January 2019. I was excited since I was really enjoying myself but that soon changed as I got all my hours slashed and have been refused to be fully trained while new workers have been fully trained after a couple weeks, I’ve been working for them since November 2018. I’ve been made a fool and am regularly ignored by my manager when I contact her. And when I confronted her about my hours being slashed I was told that my performance was low and I didn’t work hard enough even know I always did what I was asked and some extra that wasn’t expected. Keep in mind my performance is locked to morning shifts for 3 hours when the store opens so I basically get zero chance to improve as a worker. I soon will be leaving Levi’s as sad as I am to do so but the managements treatment of me has be extremely disheartening and I refuse to be treated so poorly. If you want to work for Levi’s DO NOT work for south Edmonton common. You will most likely receive the same treatment.

The people you work with are great, they give off great vibes. The work flow is a bit sketchy though, it takes a bit of getting used to. Some days are heavy some days there's rarely anything to do so they ask you to work on small projects but when you have to work heavy days your co-workers make it pretty fun. The pay is decent but I do recommend taking a comfy pair of shoes since you have to be on your toes most of the time even more so on weekends. My OCD helped me out a lot since I worked stock but if your a very organized person who enjoys earning your money I very much recommend this job, it was honestly a great experience for me. But your schedule is pretty wack even more so because of the "on-calls". Your schedule is never really permanent it works week by week, and certain days you'll be sitting around waiting for a lead to tell you if you're going to work or not which for me honestly felt like a waste of time.

I loved working here - as long as the management is good, we were a great team, with a fun and supportive atmosphere. Anyone below Assistant Manager was paid just above minimum wage, so not a great job to live off of, but with workable hours, it was a great job to have throughout school. It is non-competitive, so there were many opportunities to work as a team to problem solve, and most everyone had a chance to learn about many aspects of the store (including Point Of Sales, mannequins, signage, fitting rooms, cleaning, inventory, etc). In customer service, there are always drawbacks, including dealing with certain customers, but management was always helpful in stepping in to calm the situation and stood up for the employees. All-in-all, this was a great place to work for 4 years, the team is welcoming and willing to help you learn.

I and my fellow co-workers were forced to forced to push clothing sales and "help" customers to a fault by management. Every customer must be greeted and offered help, asked what they're looking for the second in the door. If they say they're fine we still had to ask more questions before we left them alone for like 2 minutes before we had to go back and ask again and recommend they buy some other article of clothing. I have read reviews stating how uncomfortable the customers felt and annoying the employees are. Speaking of management, the place is like a high school drama show. It may be entertaining for a while but the constant gossip and talking behind each others back got really tiresome.

I won't be putting 1 star since I met some amazing people working at levis, but as someone who has an impressive amount of patience, this place almost ran it dry.

You're going to have personnal sales goals (unless you're a cashier) which in itself is fine, but you also need to reach the statistics required. You could bring half the store worth in profits, but if your stats are bad, you're gonna get a hearing from your boss and everyone higher.
Also, no commissions or no benefits, you're going to be paid minimum wage (a 25cents raise can happen once every 3 months if you reach your sales goals). They do not care about you or your wellbeing, you're only an employee to bring them money.

Depending on your manager, you could have some better or worse experiences. The higher ups are normally the main problem. Don't expect any kind of sympathy coming from them.
