A typical day begins around 7am with a conference call with all heads of particular divisions of the campaign team and the candidate. Discussions on the days plans as well as relevant news are conducted. This is to ensure the candidate is up to speed on relevant events to ensure he/she can answer any question posed to him/her over the course of the ensuing day.

My learning curve was again very steep. Given that a campaign period is only a 38 day period there is not a lot of time to "learn" on the fly. As the Campaign Director the only management above me was the candidate; to this respect he was exceedingly supportive and flexible; conversely he was demanding respective to the timeline and importance of the position (nothing can go wrong as the effects can be catastrophic).

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the campaign team along with the travel and debates (inclusive to the prep work).

My cooworkers were great. Each knew their job well and supported me unconditionally.

The majority of the time at this job was spent answering phones and canvassing, the environment of the office was very task and goal oriented while also being a welcoming friendly environment.I  really enjoyed the amount of knowledge I received in regards to our political system as well as gained insite into the election process the most difficult part of this job was 
  being worried we would be Unable to contact everyone in our riding in time for E Day that being said I truly enjoyed the candidate I worked for and also the many volunteers and constituants i had the opportunity to meet and learn from as well as the opportunity to contribute to our community in such an important way

Meet with the candidate, and other party organizers. Determine what needed and what had been done. Delegated specific tasks. Organize events, rallies , surveys and fundraisers. Meeting with people in the constituency. Addressing their problems and concerns to the Liberal candidate. The management team constantly meet, asked for opinions, and delegate tasks. All of the team helped each other out, and very supportive. Hardest part of the job was that, they was no time to rest, just very fast paced environment. Most enjoyable part of the job was meeting people and hearing them out. It made one feel grounded and proud that you could bring in change.

The Liberal Party has been the governing party at the federal level for most of the period since the late 1890s, bringing together pragmatic social policy reformers and advocates of free enterprise, the balance between them shifting as leaders and context changed. The Liberal Party traditionally has been described as a “brokerage” party, in recognition of its success in appealing to a range of interests divided by region, language, ethnicity, and social class.

Is to make sure I got a lot of things to do and energy and team meetings with all of your employees and employers if you work with we can make sure things get done on the boss authorizes orders prime ministers or ministers or premieres or members of parliament or different agencies and organizations and departments and different systems are involved.

I enjoyed very much campaigning, performing policy analysis, and conducting research. I also organized and led a small group of volunteers for campaigning activities (door to door canvassing, telephone canvassing, putting up campaign signs) in one of the largest electoral districts in Ontario. There were few people who would have the same opportunities as I did.

This job was basically sitting on a chair and calling people across the country, it wasn't exactly a very fun job, but it was a very knowledgeable job because it helped me strengthen my communication skills through talking to others. Hardest part was sitting on a chair and talking for 5-6 hours straight, best part was informing and actually having a good conversation with the person you were calling.

Working for the Liberal Party of Canada was honestly amazing. I gained skills that I will be using and benifitting from for my entire life. I broadened my horizons and met new, and exceptional people. I got to challenge myself, which is always my favourite part. Workplace environment was full of positivity. Alongside many other poeple with the same goal as me, it was a total blast.

I did some phone calls and appreciate the fans that supported Liberal Party of Canada. I put some data information in the system like people's name and their address and their information so the Party has access to their fans so they could contact them based on their need. Every thing was easy for me and I got familiar with the system easily.

I spent several months this summer helping with surveys, door knocking, data entry, and phoning for the Liberal Party of Canada. It was a great work environment, lots of time spent outdoors and lots of help from and bonding with coworkers. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
