Liberty Freezers

Place is filthy dirty. You will blow dust out your nose after a long day at work. Blood dripping constantly from meat boxes contaminating with other meat products, and sitting beside expired products. Pretty sure major health code violations. Some staff are pretty nice, low level staff members. Senior staff members are pretty extreme, one lady threatened me a few times, she seemed pretty raicist as well. However, not a professional working environment as the F word is a norm here even from senior staff memebers.

Sometimes job postings posted as General Labour, Order Picker, Warehouse Associates etc, its all for the same job/duties. Place also recommendeds you that they will upgrade you to drive forklift with their inhouse trainer. But hes in London location, and never seems to want to come to train. In my opinion, I dont even think they have an inhouse trainer. Its just a big lie.

Employees typically stick around for no more than month or two if they really like you, maybe few months more. But I saw people leaving/quitting after working 5mins. Typical agency staff lasts no more than 1week, as they dont provide you with any freezer gear. Full time staff gets freezer gear.

They will hire you telling you, you are picking up small boxes of mcdonalds and tim hortons products. But you will be picking up meat boxes weighing avg 80-90pounds constantly. After you have picked 25 - 30 boxes onto a skid you will be pushing that 2tons of weight around the cooler. Averagely you will pickup about 200 boxes on a daily basis, more if its busy day.

Theres broken equipment everywhere. Pump trucks that look like from the 1990s is still there as a museum artifacts on the side.

If you have worked in a freezer place or heard of anyone who has, you know its hard to keep employees to stick around due to working in the cold. However, this management has seemed to give up on all from years now, maybe longer.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE INCLUDING AGENCIES.

Worked in the surveyor road location for about 6 months and it was the worst warehouse experience I've had. The place is old, filthy and falling apart. The employees are always complaining about how bad the place is. They don't seem to give yearly raises and the benefits package isnt very good. They don't do a thing for there employees, no company events or lunches,BBQs, nothing. Overall I rate this company a star and a half, the full star is because they pay you your hours properly %90 of the time and the other half star is because they showed me how bad some companies can treat there employees, thanks liberty.... For nothing 👎

Typical day was to clock in, pick your orders in the very cold freezer on machines that break all the time.  

The freezer was so cold, management does not have proper cold apparel for you to wear, good luck getting some boots.

Warehouse was the worst maintained i've ever seen. Wood scraps, vegetables and pizza all over the floor.  Skids double blocking isle. Inconsiderate co workers blocking you that can barely speak english.

Hardest part of the job was staying warm, and trying not to be crushed by skids that block isles.

The people at Liberty are very nice.  It's a smaller growing company with employees and managers working hard to get the job done.  There have recently been a lot of positive changes like incentives, benefits, etc. 

Yes it is cold in the freezer and in the cooler, but that is to be expected, the company's name is Liberty Freezers after all.  It has a relaxed culture.  The managers and HR are nice and approachable.

My day to day was to look at product, quality and as well as receive such products. Most enjoyable part of the job was getting accomplishments done. The hardest part was leaving since the work place was really rewarding and  I Like learning from my job

If you are looking for growth do not waste your time and work for this company. Environment, management & atmosphere is horrible. They will lie to you during the interview how great it is to work for their company & feed you with broken promise. Cheap labour you will not get very far working here.

the place to work if you like working in the cold, had no heat in office for those who worked there, large employee turnover. Management is harsh, not friendly.

You work your butt off  no one notices, lots of OT etc... but you get sick and call in then you get dinged on your bonuses. But no mention about the extra hours you had always worked. You get taken for granted.

I have only been there 1 year as a supervisor. We are always racing the clock but wow what a team. The knowledge is shared freely, changes are easily accepted and everyone was welcoming. A great experience overall.

I love it when we get a job done, and our boss is happy. 
I love working with other people an showing why I'm on there team.

Ive learn a lot from my different job,that now i can use different techniques into another workplace.
