I think the key things to share with job seekers who are checking out the reviews on Libro is that there are kind and friendly people who work here, the salaries and bonuses are fair and competitive, there's a strong focus on L&D, and staff can move to other internal roles with no minimum time with the organization.  There are some people who are quite content with working for this credit union and enjoy what it has to offer.  BUT, here are some things to consider if you are thinking about joining this organization:
- procedurally they are sloppy (challenges with compliance) and lack strong technical tools/software to be considered a progressive employer - you'd probably struggle with this if you came from another bigger FI - processes are different depending on the individual bank so don't expect to see consistency here
- there is a high rate of turnover in the teller roles
- there is little tolerance for poor performers and terminations are used too often as a means for managing staff issues
- leadership often leaps into large scale changes without considering all the stakeholders involved, the impacts, and resources needed 
- there is a strong culture with Libro (they say they want to grow and prosper) that again may appeal to some but can be disappointing if you are currently working in or have been accustomed to a progressive, technically savvy, innovative, agile, procedurally sound, and mature businesses.  
Remember to take your time and ask lots of questions before you leap into a role with LCU.

Libro offers a great work-life balance. Despite other reviews, you are only encouraged to participate in activities after work; it is never required. These activities/ events are few and far between and you are typically paid lieu time. My Co-Workers are genuinely some of the best people I have ever worked with, the environment is friendly but competitive, and the encouragement and support you receive from your peers is truly special. Compensation is great with lots of room for growth, sick and personal day allotment is above average and benefit options are extensive. The only area I can think of that could use improvement are some of the obsolete systems - it would be nice for things to be more streamlined and cohesive instead of needing to use so many different programs that are constantly updating anyways. Would absolutely recommend working here. 

After 17 years with one of the Big 5 banks, making the move to Libro Credit Union has been a game-changer for my career and overall well-being. The culture here is truly different, focused on people, purpose, and balance.

Company tries to persuade staff that as a credit union they put their customers first, but product pricing and mortgage rates are worse than banks, they defend their higher fees and rates by saying they have better customer service and pay annual profit shares 0.1% for being a member but is really nothing compared to having a lower mortgage rate at a bank. Most staff have no sales experience and very little product knowledge, yet they all call themselves coaches in their job title, which they have no training or skills to coach.

From excellent training programs, to full support from upper management and peers, Libro was an incredible company to work for.  Work Life balance was amazing, everyday you are set up for success, and have full support.
First company I have ever worked for that the CEO, makes themselves available to each and everyone of staff on a personal, and professional level.  
The only reason I am no longer working there is I moved to Alberta, and they are only located in South Western Ontario.  

Libro is a fantastic place to work. Its such a team oriented place and you all feel like you are on the same level and that each person is just as important as the next. 

Typically you file reports, wait on Owners (customers), answer phone calls and Owner questions. 

Help Owners with their daily financial needs (bill payments, credit applications, deposits and withdrawals) 

Identify specific needs of the Owners and offer products to suit their needs (Lines of credit of home improvements or car loans)

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing.  They make huge promises of how great the company is and when you arrive there is no training, no support and overall the worst place I have ever worked.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No support or training.  Bad management.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic work environment.  No support or tools to do your job properly.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Train myself.  Work on deals to never have them supported or approved.  Wasted time and energy.

Please stay away, this Credit Union is growing faster than they can keep up, unorganized, you must volunteer your time it is on your review to participate in after hour programs,  The Teams meetings are a make work project to justify your existence within the organization.  If you are learning - please seek a larger organization for training, if. you are seasoned RUN! This is probably one of the worst organizations I have ever been apart of. FAKE culture is being nice.  Please do not waste your time.

The company has a good reputation in the area.
It is suitable for new graduates to gain experience. It is a very “old fashioned” company where many employees and managers hold some “traditional values”. Though not admitted, it is not always a very accepting work place for people outside of race/gender “norm”. It tries very hard to talk about community/being inclusive/ being woke.
The company is supposedly lead by a board, but the quality of some of the board members is questionable. 
If you were a successful participant in some sort of a fraternity/sorority, you will do great at Libro.

Libro is a family.  Staff are treated well, and culture is always something senior management works towards being amazing.  As employees, we're known as being epic humans, and we are empowered to provide special experiences for our customers.
Like most jobs, we have targets to reach and hard work to be done, but we know how to celebrate.
I've made the decision to relocate to BC, and unfortunately the organization that I have called home for the last 15 years is only located in Ontario.
