Working as an IT intern at Liebherr Canada was a frustrating experience that exposed how large corporations can take advantage of temporary employees. From the beginning, I understood that I was on a contract, so I committed to my daily responsibilities. However, I later discovered that the previous IT intern had also been verbally promised a permanent position—only to be let go, just like I was.

Management gave verbal assurances of career advancement but failed to follow through. For nearly five months, I was led to believe that I would be offered a permanent position, only for them to reverse their stance without explanation. Instead of providing proper training, they expected me to clean up after full-time employees and then criticized my performance despite not offering guidance on how they wanted tasks handled.

The interview process was misleading. I was told I would gain valuable knowledge and training for new opportunities, but that never materialized. Despite consistently arriving on time, dedicating myself to my work, and doing my best, there was no chance for advancement. Interns are treated as disposable workers, primarily assigned repetitive tasks that permanent staff avoid.

If you're considering an internship here with hopes of growing within the company, be aware that promises of a future role may not be genuine.

- busy, always on the computer checking emails in the morning to update what was needed, a load of cores from SCL would have to be checked pertaining to the work order and component, cleaning ore etc
-learned alot about the truck itself(Liebherr Heavy Hauler) work orders, invoicing, BaaN etc
-we went through alot of managers, bad and good
-co-workers were great, easy to work with well most
-tracking the cores were difficult because they were sometimes tagged with the wrong work order and unit of the truck so to back track and guess was always the wrong thing to do but sometimes had to do it
-working with co-workers and being busy was the fun part, being slow is never fun but you make the most out of your day if you can

flexible working condition (2 days at home 3 days at the office)

not many females working.  it is a male dominant industry

aerospace division is work work work and  low pay. Overtime NOT PAID .management is on a power trip. cant keep the good employees , lots of turn around .management has no knowledge of how to direct a work place. my way or the highway attitude , benefits are good and so are most of the employees , hours are ok , if you need HR for an issue , they will NOT help you , they are 100% for the company not the employee. hard work is not apreciated. BEWARE. 
off site is great working at the customers but many hours required , sometimes day and night , even weekends.
if you are young , get your experience and get out , if you are older , stay away

Liebherr is a top notch company to work for as there product is 2nd to none. The work life balance, pension and wages keep you here. The downside is there 955 union probably the worst of unions. You pay this union to stand up for your employers that pretty much sums up the 955. Another downfall is they don’t look after the customers well they are more interested in the sale of parts and equipment and do not understand the service end of the business in my opinion this is why you don’t see Liebherr’s everywhere. 

Liebherr was a once in a lifetime opportunity for a Block 2 Technician seeking a Red Seal and a
career with a progressive and innovative company. In the 4 year employment, I gained field
experience working with some of the best personnel on material handling equipment in some of
the most extreme conditions. I demonstrated competencies across a variety of machines and job
tasks while interacting with many pieces of our organization and earning my Red Seal.

Worked for the company for nine years. There is enough freedom in the area of your work. That being said, sufficient training is provided at the time of induction and you have freedom to ask whatever help is needed to be effective on the job. Once you are comfortable on the job, you are free to work with authority in your work scope without close watch. You are expected to do your work pretty much on your own. Of course, there are internal controls and checks and balances

Terrible office staff, don’t know how to do their job

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Two field supervisors don’t communicate, heavy favouritism towards certain people. Every tech has different rules

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Do not recommend, you don’t work as a team here, you work all against eachother. A lot of throwing under the bus and backstabbing

It's been a great company to work at so far. Pay is okay, Yearly performance reviews for raises. Benifits are great provided through Manulife. Straight day shift hours with some opportunity for overtime. Co workers are awesome. Social committee plans lots of company events. Christmas Party, Summer BBQ, bring your dog to work Friday's. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Opportunity for training paid for by the company. 

It was a great opportunity to work in a brief and well developed project. The company gave me all the tools required and set clear goals from the very beginning.

The project was managed timely. The hardest part was to find proper contractors to do the job, but a team effort finally made it.

The most enjoyable part was accomplish the goals with minimum delay.
