Light Speed Logistics

I worked at Light Speed logistics for a short period of time ( 3 months). I had to move away from the company due to a previously aggravated knee condition. This is a busy company, but fair dispatch allowed for miles to be driven. Quick prompt service when dealing with dispatch. I put a scanner/printer in the truck to facilitate direct ACI/ACE as well as POD paperwork instead of having to stop at T/A or Flying J/Pilot truck stops. Like any job, patience and a calm temperament will keep you collecting miles and pay. Friendly co-workers, excellent equipment, great pay.

Between all dispatchs has misscominication, when you done the job you sending 3 different wsy to POD and they still dont know anything about you empty or not.my first trip i was empty and wait to get load 4 days.my second trip dispatch wants me to rush to get load from texas to Illinois and I wait the load 27 hr.peolle never try to part of the solution, they always part of the problem seriously Im not recommend any professional driver but maybe  good place for new driver to learn

What is the best part of working at the company?
Decent equipment, the staff was nice. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Paperwork to cross the border was often not ready on time. It seemed whoever was doing it was inexperienced. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work, work, work. Very polite people in upper management. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Pre-Trip Inspection, driving, loadi/unload.

The company is seething in misogyny and women are not taken seriously at any level.  Pay is dismal (for office workers) and ALWAYS late which ruined me financially (living pay cheque to pay cheque and on a tight budget, but regularly having to pay for late fees, overdraft, etc). There were regular yelling matches in the hallways, no work/life balance, and an immense pressure to give all of yourself to a company that clearly does not care about you in return. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing very horrible management

Everything yhis company is ruled by ppl from India 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
No one is there to say hi you are on your own learning process 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Driver to yards pickup drop waist time

LSL is one of those places that is an open door to a world of possibilities,  but also surrounded in politics. 

The experience you will have will depend largely on the ability you have to navigate it, and will often result in many capable individuals not reaching the full potential they are capable off.

But to those who does manage to get the most of it, it can be a rewarding environment.

I won’t recommend anyone to work at this company as everybody is treated as a VIP. New one are treated like a pet, salary is good but lots of time is waisted on the road. Safety department is the worst. No action will be taken against anyone because they are all relatives to each other. 

This company was nice and fun when I started working and then it seemed like I just was not welcome there anymore. I was ridiculed by dispatch was always finding ways to mess with my times on route causing me to go into violations. not cool at all!
They caused me to resign but did it in a blanketed, malicious, demising way:(
Glad I do not work there any more.

Not a fun and productive place 
No room for drivers 
Over stock with management and non essentials
Very bad communication with the over staffed 
Dispatch does and will change your dispatch to favor their friend drivers
Alot of unpaid extra work involved for drivers 
They don't practice what they preach 

* You have to fight to get a Load.
* You have to wait for days at costumer site to get your load.
* You have to talk with managers who don't know what's going on in the company.
* You have to deal with dispatchers who pretends your drive time must rich 13hrs on a daily basis... Ex. Dispatch complain because took me 2,5 days from Mississauga to Winnipeg full load in singles
