While initially presenting itself as a dream workplace, this company quickly reveals its true colors within a few months. Behind the facade of positivity lies a culture of backstabbing and favoritism, where climbing the ladder often depends more on personal connections than merit. The meager $50 monthly learning fund reflects a lack of genuine commitment to employee development. Moreover, the company's treatment of people of color is deeply concerning. Salary rates and increases are disappointingly low, and transparency and honesty seem to be in short supply. In summary, if you seek a supportive and equitable work environment, it's best to look elsewhere.

Lighthouse is a great company with a super supportive career services team. The hours although 9-5 are flexible to a degree and you have the freedom to set your own meetings and schedule. It is 100% remote based so you can literally work from anywhere. 

Pros: Great team, flexibility, supportive team members, interested in employees growth and mental well being. 

Cons: The pay is a bit low (maybe not for someone who is entry level), they do have salary promotions but it's not as high as I would have liked to see based on work experience. Also, being 100% remote can sometimes cause miscommunications where you feel a bit disconnected. 

Lighthouse Labs is a collaborative and fun environment to work in that surrounds you with cool team members and people from all walks of life that are looking to learn how to code.
The work can be stressful at times and, as with many startups, the roles are constantly morphing to suit the needs of the company.
The role can easily bleed into personal time so be prepared to be deliberate about work-life balance or surrender it and let work become your life.

Overall I would recommend people to mentor at Lighthouse Labs. It is a very rewarding job even though the pay is not great. They are also very flexible with the schedule so you can work around your existing commitments. I found that the school lacked any guidance for new mentors at the satellite schools though.

Loved my time working at Lighthouse Labs. Being surrounded by instructors, learners and team members who are on a mission to help change peoples' lives for the better was such a great feeling.

Lighthouse Labs has as its mission to provide the highest quality tech education to its students and it will make no compromise in its efforts to achieve this goal. This sometimes results in the necessity to prioritise some projects over others due to limited human resources, but the core mission is never put at stake.

Lighthouse has a great atmosphere.  Management is really understanding and they really care about how well the students learn.  Curriculum is updated often with small tweaks to keep provide the graduates with the most relevant skill sets.

Fly-by-night decision-making leads to poor performance for the the teams at large. I survived several rounds of layoffs until the most recent one. No real loyalty to employees, at all.

I do remote work evaluating student projects.  It is a limited number of hours a month and is supplementary to my full time income.  Very supportive and flexible place to work!

Great place to learn and teach Data Science! The Mentor network is great and the working conditions are very flexible. The curriculum and learning model is really innovative
