Liquor for less was an okay place to work as it was a repetitive day to day basis where you learned basic stocking and identifying products, management however sucked to say the least and a lot of the bad reviews on here are as true as they get, the hours are very iffy and inconsistent and managers pick and choose who they want to keep around based purely on personal vendettas and if you don’t make the list your gone just before three months, as for the workplace culture there’s so much drama and gossip i can’t even begin, the shift leads will consistently belittle you and make you feel unwelcome and are clearly on an ego rush, you’d think the hardest part of a job would be the customers, even the stocking but truly it was the two faced nature of both shift leads and management, the only way they make it to the top is if their easily manipulated to be as greasy as the owner. a few of the lower staff especially ones that had been there for longer are all very sweet and the customers are amazing and  are ones you can make close bonds with so long as management keeps you for longer than 3 months which they highly struggle to do. I’d give it 0/5 for all but the customers made it worth it

The best and the worst part about this job is that it’s very boring. It’s perfect if you need some extra cash and have nothing better lined up, but you learn to dissociate at work very quickly.

Most coworkers were not super friendly but they were ok. The work was mindless. My location was pretty small and didn’t have a lot of customers coming in. Other than occasional restocking and cleaning duties there wasn’t much to do other than stand at the register. Time would go by very slowly. Can’t say I learned anything I didn’t already know. Managers seemed uninterested and uninvolved. Heard complaints about the owner from the coworkers. Can’t say there’s any career advancement within the company. The culture seems to be everyone being stuck with their jobs.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management shows favouritism, punish you with cutting hours, training is minimal to nonexistent so you're left working with co-workers that have varying knowledge of what to do and the workload becomes unfair, there is a tacit understanding that you're meant to confront thieves at your own personal risk

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not ideal but it's a job. Culture is kinda clique-y

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful or chill. No in between

For the most part, Liquor for less is a fun easy supportive environment. They are willing to work around your schedule, and are willing to stand up for their employees when necessary. Every job has its negatives as well as its positives. But overall its been a great experience. My favorite part has been the staff. There are some great people there, and I met a couple of my best friends working with them there. All in all a pretty great experience. 

They have 0 respect for their staff. They change your shifts without letting you know. They are disrespectful towards you if you have any sort of issues outside of work life. The staff is currently a rotating door of new employees. You are not given any training. The "training shifts" you do have do not give you any sort of material to learn from. Just what the other staff members remember to tell you at random times. They do not pay well for the time you give them. And No over time. 

They overwork you for minimum wage, 
Most staff are kids that do whatever they want
Management does not care about their employees.
Owners come in and stress out staff often lecturing them for no reason.
Half the employees leave on several breaks leaving you on your own .
Minimal training.
No security on sites so you are left at customers mercy .
Most staff are personal friends of managers and if you are not you will be let go for no reason and no fault of your own.
You are basically hired until one of their friends need a job and can replace you .



Liquor for less is a horrible place to work. They over work you for just above min wage. They except you to dedicate your life and have no social life. Expect to work almost all weekend evenings when your new.  Expect to work every holiday, can’t book Christmas/ news years off. If your in management don’t expect the other team members to help you in the wearhouse. And if you have a problem the hr won’t help you. 
If you want to have a “stress free” work life.... avoid.

This place is horrible. They made many mistakes as both Managers and employees. I was awesome at my job and was abruptly fired during probationary period for no good reason. I was over qualified for the position in the first place. I was fired because I asked why they were administering punishment for taking dr approved sick days. The next shift I was fired. Hmm. Locally owned means acting however you please to customers as well as employees. 

Their "HR" lady, who probably has never taken a HR class in her life. Is rude and in bed with one of the owner's son so if she's disrespectful to you and you stand up to her, she's not going. You are. It's her job or her bosses job to fire people but she took someone who i have up most respect for, and made her do it. Wasn't her job to do. If you apply, be aware and keep your mouth closed or find a new job asap
